Arts & Crafts 2, Tuesday Afternoon, Main Campfire

"Good afternoon," Steve said. "Today we're going to make dream catchers, as I have been told they are traditional at summer camp. The instruction sheets and supplies should be on your tables. If you need any help, just let me or my TA--" Steve nodded at Teddy--"know. Also, I thought it would be nice if we all introduced ourselves so no one's working next to a total stranger. I'll start. Like I said last week, my name is Steve Rogers. I'm eighty-nine years old--yes, really--and I'm from New York City. I used to be in the army, but before that I went to art school." Steve pointed to a student at random. "You're next."

Naminé looked over at her roommate-to-be with a tentative smile. "How did you do that? With the flames, I mean. Are you a witch?" She didn't seem nervous about the question itself. Naminé had known a few witches in her time.

Liz shook her head, "I'm not a witch," she said quietly, "I've been able to create fire for a while now but I don't know why I can do it,"

Naminé was quiet for a moment before nodding. "I have a power that I don't quite understand, either. One I'm not sure I should use at all." She looked down. "I've seen what it can do."

Liz nodded, "Sometimes I wonder if I should even use my power," she said softly, "I'm still learning to control it but that control is only limited,"

"Mine ... I'm not sure if there's a way to use it that would help. It's only hurt, before." She lifted a shoulder awkwardly. "I'm sorry about the control issues you have. I can imagine that must be difficult. My situation is different, I mean, my power is controlled, more or less. But ... I don't think I should use it, either. And I'm sorry for when I did."

Savannah smiled at Liz as she started sorting out different beads of blues and greens. "That's pretty cool, your fire thing, I mean."

Savannah nodded. "I really do," she said with another friendly smile. "Have you always been able to do that? I mean, I can make fireballs, but I have to recite a spell first."

"Since I was seven," Liz said quietly, "at first it happened randomly but I've gotten better at controlling it,"

Savannah tilted her head. "If you're uncomfortable talking about it, feel free to tell me to shut up and mind my own business," she said with a friendly grin. "I'm new here and not known for tact that goes with my curiosity when I'm interested in something."

"It's okay," Liz said, "my powers aren't exactly accepted back home. Fandom's been one of only a couple of places I've been where they have been accepted. It takes a while to get used to being in a place where they are,"

"I think I was born with my powers," Liz said quietly, "they first started appearing when I was 7,"

"I was just wondering, what all you can do, how far you can go?"

"I can mostly create flames in my hands," Liz said, she hesitated slightly before she went on, "I have also done what my guardian called a nova effect. I've only done that twice but it was because I lost control of my powers,"

"Nova?" Johnny was very familiar with nova heat and he was more than shocked to hear that Liz could do it. He thought he was the only one. Of course he went Supernova so was under the impression it might be hotter.

"So you can't control nova heat at whim?"

"No," Liz shook her head, "the two times that I've done that were in situations that were beyond my control,"

He nodded, "There might be a time where those situations are completely under your control. Are you working at it? Nova heat is very dangerous, Liz."

"I've been going through some meditation exercises to help control it," Liz said softly, "I've seen how dangerous my powers can be, I don't want another incident."
