School Assembly, Friday afternoon, The Auditorium

"Welcome, one and all, to the first school assembly of the new semester! In case you haven't met me yet, I am The Tick! Dean of Students here at Fandom High. That means that where student issues are concerned, I am the parking attendant in the self park garage of your education!"

"Today, we have a special in the garage! It's a special that speaks of a different kind of special you might get in a seedier garage. Today's special is called DANK: Drugs Are Not Kool! Spelling is cool, of course, but sometimes you have to make an exception and spell something with a 'k' to work. Anyway, we will have several speakers this afternoon, guiding your car into a parking space of a clean and healthy life! Please welcome our guests!"

[OOC: Each speaker will have their own thread, plus there will be a Q&A thread at the end of the post for them to ping into. Also, since it seems appropriate this time, there will be a thread for after the assembly to speak to the guests a bit more privately. Please wait to ask the speakers questions until the speakers have pinged in.

There are also a couple of general conversation threads for people who don't want to give their undivided attention. :)

Big thanks to all of the speakers! Speaking of which, speakers should be sure to check their comm invites.]

"Questions?" Danny asked, raising his glasses so he could look out over the audience. "Requests for autographs?"

"Can you get me Simon Stiles' autograph!?"

Oh, did he mean requests for his autograph?

Snerk "He's not allowed to touch paper until he stops driving Matt nuts over some underwear thing," Danny replied.

It's possible he needed to pay closer attention to the not Matt written sketches.

"He could autograph a t-shirt then?"

Cause hey, free t-shirt maybe.

Josh was staring like a staring thing.

"What. The. Hell?" he asked.

"Question from the strangely attractive man over there?" Danny asked.

"You're here just to mess with me, right?"

Aly snickered. "I thought this weekend had caught up to you."

"This is beyond strange," Josh said, still blinking rapidly. "Hope my hair never recedes that badly."

Kawalsky looked at Danny, then to Professor Lyman, then back to Danny. Lather, rinse, repeat and he smirked. So the king of normality actually had a doppleganger. Hah.

Oddly enough? Alanna was doing the exact same thing, only she hadn't gotten to the smirking part yet and was stuck on looking back and forth.

Annette raised her hand. "I want one! An autograph! Please?"

Danny smiled. "Absolutely. Who do I make it out to?"

"Annette Hargrove, an avid listener with a cute grin." She raised her brows, grinning.

Dick was there to get an autograph for his brother. The Beav totally fangirled over Danny. Dick on the other hand was partial to Harriet Hayes.

"Hey dude, can I get an autograph?" asked Dick "And good work on the show by the way. It's like a hundred times better now that you guys are back."

"I'll be sure to tell Matt you said so," Danny replied, motioning for him to come up to get his autograph. "See, this is exactly what I'm talking about with quality television. How can anybody compare the impact and deep political meaning of sketches like Dolphin Girl with anything reality television has managed to put out?"

Re: Speaker Q&A [1/26]

[identity profile] surferboy-09er.livejournal.com 2007-01-26 06:00 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh yes Dolphin Girl changed my perspective on life." says Dick, laughing. "Could you make that out to Bea-I mean, Cassidy?"

He could be a good brother every once in a while.

Liz was kind of stunned for a minute as she tried to figure out why the guy looked like her government teacher, she shrugged it off and asked, "can I have an autograph please?"

Aly stared. And then just started laughing.

Danny stared back. "Normally I get that kind of reaction in response to the sketches. Or when I try contacting my ex-wives."

Turtle's hand was very insistently piercing the air. She actually had a serious question, thank you very much.

"Weren't you guys involved in the show a few years ago too?"

Re: Speaker Q&A [1/26]

[identity profile] caughtdoingblow.livejournal.com 2007-01-27 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
"Yeah," Danny said. "We left over creative differences such as my inability to look at any of the network executives without saying words that would result in an FCC fine if any cameras were around."
