Ethics (Thursday, September 28, 6th period)

Vader swept into the room precisely on time, slamming the door hard enough to reverberate down the hallway. He dropped a box of cookies onto his desk.

"Today we talk about how a strict sense of right and wrong interferes in efficiency," he said, pacing the room and clearly intending to intimidate as many students as possible. "Employees who do not believe that there will be consequences for their incompetence become lazy, stupid, and easily replaceable."

Vader took the box of cookies from his desk and passed it around the room. "Each of you has a cookie," he said. "You will spend the rest of the class period using the tactics of fear, shame and guilt to get the other people in this classroom to give you their cookies." And yes, that word sounded incredibly strange coming from him. "Whoever has the most cookies at the end of the class will get to keep them."

He crossed his arms over his chest. "Are these tactics unethical? Does it matter if you get what you want?"

Jamie reaches into his backpack and pulls out a vase that he picked up at the Island of Ikea.

He throws it against the wall where it doesn't break but just bounces onto the floor.

"EVERYONE HERE WILL NOW GIVE ME THEIR COOKIES!"

Jamie slapped at Bel's hand.

"FOOL! YOU DARE TO STEAL MY COOKIE?!"

Bel drew his empty hand back.

"You look ridiculous, you know," he said. "But if you give me your cookie, I might be convinced to quake in fear or something."

Aeryn tries to convince herself that she doesn't want to headdesk. Which doesn't work, because she really wants to. The only reason she doesn't is because that would look really stupid in class. "You have a death wish," she notes.

Jamie breathes at Stark.

"Give me your cookie."

"Apoplectic with fury" would come close to describing Vader at the moment.

Only angrier.

"Explain!" he roared.

He was an inch away from tossing Jamie into a wall and dealing with the consequences later.

Jamie threw his cape over his shoulder dramatically.

"You mentioned last night that you are the only one here from your galaxy!" Jamie bellowed. "So to make you feel more at home I have become... DARTH MADROX!"

Oops. Vader was going to need a new desk. His old one had just cracked into a hundred pieces as he attempted to throttle his impulse to kill Jamie good and dead.

"You are no Sith," he spat. "You're not even Jedi."

He swept across the room to loom above Jamie. "Detention," he growled. "And be grateful that you have Principal Washburn watching out for you. Such...insults...do not go unpunished."
