Internet for Dummies, Wednesday 9/6, 3rd Period

Abby settled on the front desk in the computer lab and smiled at the class. "Welcome to Internet for Dummies. Which is not an insult or anything, just my attempt at being funny."

She looked out over the class. "This would be the part where you all agree and laugh along with me."

"Today we're going to take it slow. Especially considering that not everyone here knows how to use computers. So we're going to team up and do reports on what the internet is all about." Abby read off the groups lists and waited for everyone to move around.

"I want you guys to talk about what you already know about the internet. What it does, how it helps you and what you want to learn from it." Abby passed out handouts. "If you don't know about the internet, then you can use this handy piece of paper as a cheat sheet."

"My name is Abby Sciuto but you guys can call me Professor Abby. I'm a forensic specialist with NCIS when I'm not teaching here. I have an unhealthy attachment to Caf-Pow." Abby lifted the cup and took a sip. "Seriously. Anyone who brings some to class gets extra credit."

"Ray Kowalski," he said with a shrug. "I'm a student now formerly of Chicago. I like to box and sleep. And I like coffee with Smarties in it."

First internet class. Mac is definitely supremely perky. "I'm Mac, I've been in Fandom since January, transferred from California. I have a minor love affair with the internet going on, and I change my hair colour every couple of months at least."

"Oh, and I run on caffeine, which I like to think is a good thing."

"I'm Door. I'm from London... sort of. And what I know about the internet consists of 'it's a thing you can do with a computer, which I now know how to type my name on.' So I'm not at all offended by the Dummies bit."

"My name is Togusa, and I'm taking this class to learn more about the beginnings of the net," he said, taking a seat.

Evie blinks, writes down Caf-Pow, and says, "Oh! I'm Evie Carahan. I'm, um, I'm from London and Cairo, in 1916. And Dr. Jackson--" *blush* "--showed me how to work a computer on Monday. Sort of. And I know the internet has reams of information about things, like an encyclopedia!"

"Greetings, I am Sir Didymus ~~I'm a fox that talks~~. I come from the Labyrinth just outside the Goblin City in the Underground. ~~Don't ask the time period as my mun isn't quite sure because of canon related things.~~ I love to play Scrabble, and am usually up for a round or two of it." He seemed perky and excited. "And computers are a new thing to me, so bear with me if I have troubles."
