Sexual Education [08/03] - Thursday Afternoon

"It's too hot to do anything," Becky whined when her class came out to meet that day. They might have noticed she was dressed differently than usual - her leathers had been replaced by a miniskirt and halter top, though her jewelry was still there, and her hair was up for a change. "So instead, boys and girls, we're going to do a Q&A. Ask me anything you'd like as long as it somehow relates to the class, and I'll answer it as best I can, 'kay?"

[Apologies for the lame class, but seriously, ask her whatever you'd like. She'll be honest. I just have a headache and lack inspiration today. :) SP from me until about 2 or 3 EDT]

Blair turned to say hello and stopped. "Are you okay, man?"

"My girlfriend is a fish," Bel said miserably.

"I think a mermaid is a different species than an actual fish." Blair said with a nod.

"Yeah, but still, she's like half a fish!" Bel said. He may have flailed a little.

"And half a girl. Half Phoebe to be exact." Blair shook his head. "Any ideas on how to change her back?"

"No," Bel said glumly. "Me and Piper and Lana went to see someone last night, but Piper blew her up."

"Blew her up?" Blair blinked. "Um...okay, that seems like shoddy impulse control, but I'm sure she knew what she doing. Is there anything I can do to help?"

"Well, it was a demon, and she was going to turn Phoebe back into a human if I gave her my soul," Bel admitted. "So it was probably a good thing Piper blew her up." He sighed, running his fingers through his hair. "I don't know what you can do. I don't know what anyone can do. Even if her heart doesn't turn cold, how can I have a relationship with a mermaid?"

"Everybody and their brother is out for you, aren't they?" Blair shook his head. "Isn't there a way for you to claim political asylum...or soul asylum?"

"What do you mean, if her heart doesn't turn cold?"

"Mermaids have cold hearts," Bel said. "They don't feel love. Just the call of the sea."

"That might happen to Phoebe? She's the most warm-hearted person I've ever met!" Blair shook his head. "No way, man. She totally loves you."

"If we don't change her back, she's only gonna love sea shells and the water soon," Bel said. "And even if that doesn't happen...think a demon and a mermaid can make it work?"

"So we just have to work hard to change her back before that happens. Have you checked the library yet?" Blair smiled a little. "I don't know about a demon and a mermaid, but I'm pretty sure you and Phoebe can make it work no matter what."

"But how can we...?" He made a crude hand gesture.

Blair blushed and shook his head. "I'm sure you're distraught and all, man. But it's not as if thats the only part of being in a relationship."

Bel chuckled. "Gotcha," he said, but his heart wasn't really in it. He sighed again. "I'll love her no matter what she looks like," he said. "But if she doesn't love me, it's gonna hurt like hell."

Blair shrugged, he didn't feel bad about blushing today. "Just remember that it's not really her. It's like she got bit by a gremlin or something, you can't hold what she does against her, or believe that it's true. No matter what she does as a mermaid, Phoebe loves you."

"It's my fault this happened to her," Bel said. "I gotta find a way to undo it."

"You turned her into a mermaid? What on earth for?"

Bel shook his head. "She cast a spell to try to open my mind since I was hiding things from her, and it backfired because it was personal gain. Instead of opening my mind it closed her heart."

"Whoa." Blair sat back. "Could you fix the spell if you opened your mind to her, like the spell intended?"

"I don't know," Bel said. "But if I did that, she might hate me."

"If she stays a mermaid forever than it doesn't matter, does it." Blair said dryly. "It can't be all that bad, Bel."

"It's up there," Bel said quietly.

Scooting his chair closer, Blair leaned in. "Can you talk about it at all? Maybe you've blown it up in your mind and you need an outside perspective."
