Festivus in July, Fandom High front lawn, Friday afternoon

Sometime during morning workshops, when no one was paying nearly enough attention except those concerned, the Fandom High schoolgrounds had filled with snow.

For the record, "those concerned" meant Rory Gilmore and several dozen snow cone distributors from the mainland. But who wants to ruin the illusion? Students who were curious might assume that it was simply a Festivus in July miracle, or some such.

In the middle of the lawn stood a bare, aluminum pole. Festivus tradition, you know.

[Yes, the schoolgrounds have snow. I'm weathermodding and saying it's cool enough today through this evening for it to stick, and it'll melt overnight. And yes, we're having Festivus in July. For those not in the know, here is a handy Wiki link! Please wait for OCD. Up, yay!]

Yeah, this was going to drive him crazy. "So how are you beside being secretive and mean?" he tried.

"I'm good!" Molly said. "Well, except for messing up the cake in Baking on Monday. That was disappointing."

"I'm sorry. You'll do better next time," Cameron assured her.

"It's all the coffee's fault," she said with a pout.

"Coffee is evil too," Cameron nodded. "There, that's my grievance for the week."

"Tsk. You stole mine," Molly said. "That'll be my grievance. That you are a grievance stealer."

Cameron considered it for a moment and shrugged. "I can live with that."

Molly nodded once in satisfaction.

"Oh, hey. How was the party last night?"

"It was good. I think. I didn't stick around for the entire thing," he shrugged. "I took my crutches and got an early night."

Re: Food!

Molly tilted her head. "Why did you have crutches?"

"For my fake sprained ankle," he explained as if that made perfect sense.

Molly just looked at him for a moment. "Okaaaay, why did you have a fake sprained ankle?"

"To make Veronica late for work so her surprise party could get organised." See? It all made sense. "Of course, I should be grateful she didn't give me a real sprain when she found out."

Re: Food!

[identity profile] bruiser-in-pink.livejournal.com 2006-07-28 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh! Okay. Was she surprised?"

Re: Food!

[identity profile] cameronmitchell.livejournal.com 2006-07-28 07:51 pm (UTC)(link)
"She looked it," he nodded. "Next surprise party where I have to distract, I've got to come up with a better plan, though."

Molly chuckled. "Maybe you could stage a kidnapping," she suggested.

Cameron considered it for a second. "Considering that more than half of the school can kick my ass, I think that might be a bad idea."

Re: Food!

[identity profile] bruiser-in-pink.livejournal.com 2006-07-28 08:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"It wouldn't have to be a real kidnapping, but maybe you're right," Molly said. "Someone would probably get the wrong idea and then it would be a big mess."

Then a thought occurred to her. "Speaking of parties for birthdays, when is yours? You never did tell me before."

Re: Food!

[identity profile] cameronmitchell.livejournal.com 2006-07-28 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
"August 24, but I'm not planning on having a party," Cameron said with a shrug.

Re: Food!

[identity profile] bruiser-in-pink.livejournal.com 2006-07-28 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"Awww, well, you don't have to have a party, but you should do something fun for your birthday," Molly said. "Will you at least let me get you a cake? Everyone has to have cake on their birthday."

Re: Food!

[identity profile] cameronmitchell.livejournal.com 2006-07-28 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
"Let it be known that I never pass up on food," Cameron told her.

Re: Food!

[identity profile] bruiser-in-pink.livejournal.com 2006-07-28 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
"Good," Molly said with a nod. "Hmmm, August 24th," she continued to herself, "that isn't a lot of time."

Re: Food!

[identity profile] cameronmitchell.livejournal.com 2006-07-28 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"A lot of time for what?" Cameron asked.

Re: Food!

[identity profile] bruiser-in-pink.livejournal.com 2006-07-28 08:49 pm (UTC)(link)
"Nothing," Molly said quickly. "Just an observation." She grinned at him.

[identity profile] cameronmitchell.livejournal.com 2006-07-28 08:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Cameron narrowed his eyes. "Evil," he repeated.
