Tuesday Afternoon: How to Win Friends, etc. [Session One]

As the students file in they'll see that the Danger shop appears to look like a normal classroom. Suddenly from the back of the room a sharp piercing whistle is heard as Dr. Cox marches into the room with a stuffed dug under his arm.

"SEATS! NOW!" He bellows and glares at everyone in the classroom until they are sitting at a desk.

"So you want to learn how to win friends and impress people. Do you realize how pa-ha-thetic you people are? I mean for the love of GOD people! Do you realize what this leads to? It leads you to becoming something like THIS!"

Cox flips a switch and in the Danger Shop a hologram appears of a middle aged man wearing a lab coat with red horns and a pointed tail. The hologram appears to be limited because it only says: "Who has two thumbs and doesn't give a crap?"

Then hologram points at himself with its thumbs. "Bob Kelso. That'd be me."

The hologram continues to repeat itself throughout class.

"This! This is what you'll become! DO YOU NOT SEE THE DANGER!! MY GOD NEWBIES! THE HORROR!! THE HORROR!!" Dr. Cox ranted.

He then took a deep breath and glared at the students sitting at their desks. "Let's get one thing straight people. Friends? Who needs them. Impressing people? Bah! What I am about to show you are the tools of the enemy. You will learn them. You will learn to fight them. I will give you the tools to fight them.

Cox points to seven random people an then points to Rowdy's mouth. "I want each of you to write down something that you want including your name. Put it Old Yeller's mouth here and the person who gets the object of your desire? You will try to schmooze it from them. The rest of you? You will fight to the fiber of your being to keep it from them. Then you will flip sides and the schmoozer will become the schmoozee."

And Cordy wasn't exactly sure how she was going to get famous through Bel.

"Hey," she greeted him. Such a way with words.

"Hey," Bel said. "So, uh, I guess we figure out how we could give each other what we want, then do this schmoozing thing. You want to be famous, so I could be a talent scout or something?"

Cordelia quibbled a bit. "Why does this already sound like a bad porn movie?"

Suddenly music starts playing in the danger shop. Yes. It's *that* kind of soundtrack.

Dr. Cox is busily reading off a clipboard. Rowdy however seems to have the remote control in his mouth.

"Rowdy! Bad Dog!"

Cordelia blushed and stammered nonsensically for a bit.

Bel couldn't help but grin. "Well, you know, a girl like you wants to be famous, she's going to have to earn it," he said, getting into the role.

Cordelia stared for a moment, then decided that well, it was as good a time as any to show off her acting skills.

So she twirled her hair around a finger and batted her eyelashes. "Why, I'll just do anything to be in the movies!"

"You've got the look," Bel said, letting his gaze sweep over her. "Ever heard of the casting couch, babe?"

Cordelia tossed her hair behind her and gave Bel her most innocent look.

"No," she said, slowly. "What's that?"

"Something you better learn about if you want to be famous," Bel said. "Especially if you're willing to do...anything."

Cordelia batted her eyelashes some more and giggled coyly.

"Well, please tell me all about it, then! I bet it's lots of fun."

Bel was finding it hard to keep a straight face. "Well, first we sit down and get comfortable, and have some drinks," he said. "Just to loosen you up and set the mood."

"I like drinks!" Cordelia proclaimed. "But I'm already pretty loose," she added, struggling to not burst into laughter.

Realizing he was supposed to keep Cordy from getting her desire no matter what, Bel decided he had to up the stakes. "I have a couple of friends I should call, too," he said. "They'd be interested in seeing your talents."

Cordelia raised an eyebrow at Bel.

"Oh, like a panel audition? The more the merrier!" she said cheerfully, grinning.

Bel fought back a snicker. "Well, why don't you show me some of your assets?" he said, settling back in his chair.

Cordelia gaped at Bel for a minute, and honestly would have shown him her assets then and there if it weren't for fear of detention.

"Well I just don't know if I should what with all these people around," she said, gesturing at Dr. Cox's back. "But I'd be happy to give you a private audition after class."

"Better get used to performing in front of a crowd," Bel countered, wondering just how far he was supposed to push this. If he got Cordelia to slap him, did he win?

Cordelia grinned and positioned herself so that her back was to Dr. Cox. And hoped to hell that she didn't get caught.

And then she flashed Bel. Very quickly. "I'll show you more if you promise to cast me in a movie. But I'll only show you in private."

Bel gaped.

And then gaped some more.

When something more than Boobies! managed to penetrate his brain, he stammered, "Well, ah, those are very nice. They'll take you far. Let me see if I can find a copy of the script, and then we can go, uh, rehearse. Privately."

He had the feeling he was losing this round.

Cordelia held her head up. "Excellent!" she proclaimed.

"So, uh, was that a successful schmooze? You wanna go next?"

"I'd call that very successful," Bel said, trying not to stare at Cordelia's now-covered chest. He wondered if she did that a lot. He hoped he was around if she did. "But...how do I schmooze being a hero from you?"

Cordy blinked.

"Well, we already talked about this, before, right? I get a vision, I tell you, you save lives. Already worked out."

"Right," Bel said, obviously still somewhat distracted by Boobies! "So, uh, tell me your vision and I'll go be a hero."

Then Cordy remember that she wasn't supposed to help him.

"Um. No. I don't wanna."
