Student Art Fair, Friday afternoon, Dorms Front Lawn

Since it was set to be a nice day, the Art Fair was laid out on the front lawn of the dorms.

When people entered, they were greeted with a selection of tissue paper flowers in colorful - mainly blue - vases. Beyond that, there was a number of displays from the various participating classes.

The Student Art Fair was open.

[OOC: Students with projects should start a subthread under their class for their project containing a description or link to a picture of their project. GOB's students should just get in place and perform for however long they want to. They are free to come and go.

Conversations in general areas should go under the General Conversation subthreads. Confusing, yes? Actual viewing and commenting on the different projects should go under the student's subthreads.

Have fun and enjoy the art! I'm turning notifications off but you can ping me in the OOC thread or via e-mail if you need to catch my attention.]

Hallelujah! The Student Art Fair! Sakurazaki can finally stop worrying about her lame project!

Although, admittedly, as she sets it up, she's glowing a little bit with pride. For thinking she didn't have any artistic ability what-so-ever, this didn't look too bad.

She sets up her three favourites of her attempts to make pulp-style samurai film posters:

Three Black Ships (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v719/skylie/blackshipscopy.jpg) wasn't as impressive artisticly, but Sakurazaki was crazy about the historical significance.

Meanwhile, that samurai in Autumn Bridge (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v719/skylie/samuraiprincesscopy.jpg) looks awfully familiar.

But, personally, Sakurazaki thinks Cloud of Sparrows (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v719/skylie/cloudosparrowscopy.jpg) is the best one. Ninjas? could never go wrong.

She also wanted to include the one she had titled "The Head of Saigo Takamori," but was worried that Tick-sensei might disapprove of it's blood and violence, so she doesn't end up presenting it.

Tim smiled at the posters, but then looked closely at the Cloud of Sparrows one. Had she snuck a naked couple in that window?

Sakurazaki, a little paranoid as it is about the general reception her crappy art will recieve, notices Tim's scrutiny and questioning expression. "What?" she asks, half bark, half concerned little whine.

Tim pointed to the window. "What's that?" he asked innocently.

Jude was doing his very best to look as though he hadn't spent the last two days looking for her, surprisingly unsuccessfully given the small size of the island. Which meant he was still slouchy and still sauntery but couldn't quite lose the broad grin that blossomed over his face when he saw her.

"Hey."

"Jude!"

Sakurazaki's grin is bright as she spots him; there was even a slight bounce. In fact, she's biting her lip a little, an effort to restrain the urge to just pounce on him with a hug. Plus, it was always nice to have things turn out as planned. She was hoping the art fair would save her the trouble of having to prowl the entire campus later. "Hi!"

"Kept missin' ya that last few days," Jude replied, sidling around the edge of the table so he wouldn't have to lean over her masterpieces to do what he was going to do. Which was, of course, give her a kiss.

Jonesy had informed him last night that they should be up to tonsil hockey by this point. Jude wasn't even sure of the status of their relationship, so kept his lips to her cheek.

Maia set up her toothpick and pea Eiffel Tower sculpture as well as her popsicle stick gallows. She had added a little pea toothpick stick man to swing in the noose since the first art class.

Jude bounced over. Bouncing because yay, he had just seen Setsuna for the first time in days.

"Hey, Maia!"

"Hey Jude." Maia said with a smile arranging her placard detailing her artwork. She was nearly bouncing out of her skin as she glanced at her watch. Two hours and then she would be on her way to Susan hopefully. "How's it going?"

"It's goin' awesome, bra!" Jude enthused, equally bouncy. "How about you? Hey, cool sculpture-thingy."

Jaye has her paper flower bouquet, and also, a little something extra.

Peter walked up to the self portrait and shook his head. "Not insane-looking enough," he decided. "Sad, really." And then he walked off, shaking his head.

Bridge has set up a diorama with his popsicle-stick Rangers battling a popsicle-stick bad guy.

Tim scratched his head. "Why are these popsicle stick people ganging up on that popsicle stick person?"

Afer much hemming and hawing, Seras had finally decided to submit her faux stained glass (http://www.livejournal.com/userpic/40961431/6348139) project as her entry in the Art Show.

Privately, she wished she had something deep and meaningful and avant garde to contribute. Still, she rather liked her rendering of Pup. And the socks in the background made her smile.

Seras laughed.

"Thanks, Tim. Are you enjoying the Art Show?"

"I am. Lots of cool things. Non-Alliterative Peter's art project is kinda disturbing, but, well done."
