Student Art Fair, Friday afternoon, Dorms Front Lawn

Since it was set to be a nice day, the Art Fair was laid out on the front lawn of the dorms.

When people entered, they were greeted with a selection of tissue paper flowers in colorful - mainly blue - vases. Beyond that, there was a number of displays from the various participating classes.

The Student Art Fair was open.

[OOC: Students with projects should start a subthread under their class for their project containing a description or link to a picture of their project. GOB's students should just get in place and perform for however long they want to. They are free to come and go.

Conversations in general areas should go under the General Conversation subthreads. Confusing, yes? Actual viewing and commenting on the different projects should go under the student's subthreads.

Jude was doing his very best to look as though he hadn't spent the last two days looking for her, surprisingly unsuccessfully given the small size of the island. Which meant he was still slouchy and still sauntery but couldn't quite lose the broad grin that blossomed over his face when he saw her.

"Hey."

"Jude!"

Sakurazaki's grin is bright as she spots him; there was even a slight bounce. In fact, she's biting her lip a little, an effort to restrain the urge to just pounce on him with a hug. Plus, it was always nice to have things turn out as planned. She was hoping the art fair would save her the trouble of having to prowl the entire campus later. "Hi!"

"Kept missin' ya that last few days," Jude replied, sidling around the edge of the table so he wouldn't have to lean over her masterpieces to do what he was going to do. Which was, of course, give her a kiss.

Jonesy had informed him last night that they should be up to tonsil hockey by this point. Jude wasn't even sure of the status of their relationship, so kept his lips to her cheek.

Bing! Five!

Sakurazaki's grin widens with the kiss, shoulders lifting slightly in another general but rather cute expression of bashfulness, cheeks gently flushed. "Yeah," she says quietly, eyes sliding away and the blush deepening. "I've been really busy this week."

And then she remembers. With a gasp, all the reservation of her last demure demeanor explodes, excitement taking over her and one of her hands grabbing onto his shoulder as if she needs support. "Oh, and Jude! I have the best news ever, too!" Yes, definately bouncing now. She can't wait for him to ask what it is, plowing straight forward with an unprecidented thrill in her voice. "I'm getting my sword sent over! Finally!"

"That's awesome!" Jude's enthusiasm was genuine, even if more than half of it was spawned because her enthusiasm was genuine. Also, it covered his slack-jawed gaping at her cuteness, which never failed to reduce him to even more of a clueless clumsy teenager than he already was. "Cool!"

"It's more than just awesome," she grins wildly, still unable to get a hold on her excitement. "I don't think there are words in English to express exactly what it is. He's sending it magically, too, so it could be here at any moment. Ohhhh, I can't wait. I've missed her so much, but now she'll be here, she'll be at arm's reach. All my hard work paying off." She cuts off her rambling with about as close to a squeal as she'll allow herself to get, which, even now, it's very close.

"Then I'm happy for you," Jude beamed, brushing away the stupid little stab of jealousy that made no sense because dude. It was a sword. Chill. "You deserve it."

"Damn right I do," Sakurazaki says with a chuckle; she can afford a little slip in her modesty, especially when it came to Yuunagi. And that glowing isn't going down anytime soon, although a blush starts to show through as she admits, "So, yeah, I've had a pretty amazing week, except for the fact that I've barely seen you. What've you been up to?"

To be honest, Jude couldn't quite remember what he'd been up to. Long periods of sleeping interspersed with looking for her, really.

So that's precisely what he told her, even as his inner Jude - the one who wasn't so mellow - joyed over the fact that a lack of Jude could effect the approval rating of an entire week.

Awww, he was looking for her? Sakurazaki smiles. A slight pang of guilt prevents her from merely reveling in that thought. "I was going to go try and find you tonight, actually, after this was all done," she adds quickly, then grins, "but I guess now I don't have to."

"Yeah, I guess so." Jude scratched the back of his head. "So, since your plans for the evening seem to have fallen though, wanna do something?"

There's a soft sigh behind Sakurazaki's grin, one of relief. He'd just saved her all the embarrassed anxiety she knew she'd suffer when she planned to ask him that same thing later. "I'd love to."

"Awesome." He hesitated. Back home, this would mean a movie or the amusement park. But Fandom didn't have one of the latter, and the former was open odd hours . . . "Wherever you want to go." Decision-making successfull averted.

Nice way to pass the buck, Jude. And Sakurazaki had been pretty plotted out for the week. Still, she tried to think of something, although her brain could only come to one conclusion: just somewhere where they could just be together and enjoy each other's company. That's all she really wanted, especially after such a long week without seeing him (long? What the hell, it's been like, three days...). But just because that was something she wanted didn't mean it was something that she would allow herself to admit to wanting.

"I don't know," she finally concludes with a passive shrug. "I don't really have any preferences, I guess..."

If Setsuna would have admitted that, she would have found that Jude felt almost exactly the same way. Which is why he cut through all the typical date-type places that would require a certain degree of awkwardness.

"How about the park?" he suggested, shrugging. "I mean, if we split up before later rolls around."

She gives quick nod lit by a bright smile. "The park is good." Very good. "So, should I just meet you there later?"

"Yeah, I guess you got art fair stuff to do and I shouldn't hang around . . ." Jude looked slightly less mellow for a moment. "Hey, Setsuna, can I ask ya somethin'?"

She's still too kind of bubbly to really be phased by thoughts of what it might be, although there is a minor falter and a sharpened blush. Her throat tightens just a little bit, so the words are a little slow. "Sure, Jude. You can ask me anything."

"Are we - I mean, do you - that is, uh . . ." Jude trailed off, looking at the table before tentatively looking back up at her. "Sakurazaki Setsuna - d'you wanna be my girlfriend?"

In all honestly, Sakurazaki wasn't exactly sure what shocked her more: his question or the fact that, when he asked it, he used the Japanese form of her name. It definately helped endear her to the idea. As if he actually needed the help there. But...but she couldn't be someone's girlfriend, could she? There was significant arm flailing in her head, which she managed to physically quell by scratching at the back of her neck, eyes drifting up as blushing overwhelms her and she feels like her heart's going to burst through her chest.

"I...I don't...I don't really know if I'd be a very good girlfriend type, Jude..."

Oh my God, you stupid, stupid girl! What are you saying? This is not the time to panic and cop out like a coward! A Mini Setsuna in her head was viciously beating her brain with a butter-knife sword.

Break the poor boy's heart, whydon'tcha?

Jude slumped and turned away. "That's cool," he said in a tone of voice that wasn't very cool at all. "I guess I'll see you later, then."

Setsuna had just stamped the big ol' REJECTED red stamp on his heart.

Baka! Baka! Baka!

But she wasn't just going to let him stalk off like that under the wrong impression. She nearly knocks over her posters as she reaches out for his arm. Just to grab it lightly and stop him; no pulling back this time. "Oh, no, Jude...that's....that's not what I meant! I just..."

"Yeah?" Jude turned around, perking up somewhat. Long experience - or rather, Jonesy's long experience - had taught him that when a girl said that she was the problem, she really meant that he was the problem. But this was Setsuna so he was giving her a chance to explain.

"See?" Sakurazaki says with an embarrassed but hopefully look. "That was completely the incorrect thing to say, getting all caught up in my own descrepincies when what I really should have said was..." Oh, look, something on the floor, better concentrate on that for a moment, poke at it with her shoe. Deeeeep. Breathhhh. She looks back up with a smile strained over all the little alarms of extreme panic going off inside of her. "Yes. Yes, I would."

Jude's grin was instantaneous, his entire posture changed in a moment. "Really?"

He looked as though Setsuna had just told him that they had decided to make New York a giant skateboard park, with free energy drinks flowing from every fountain. That or something about Christmas.
