Student Art Fair, Friday afternoon, Dorms Front Lawn

Since it was set to be a nice day, the Art Fair was laid out on the front lawn of the dorms.

When people entered, they were greeted with a selection of tissue paper flowers in colorful - mainly blue - vases. Beyond that, there was a number of displays from the various participating classes.

The Student Art Fair was open.

[OOC: Students with projects should start a subthread under their class for their project containing a description or link to a picture of their project. GOB's students should just get in place and perform for however long they want to. They are free to come and go.

Conversations in general areas should go under the General Conversation subthreads. Confusing, yes? Actual viewing and commenting on the different projects should go under the student's subthreads.

Have fun and enjoy the art! I'm turning notifications off but you can ping me in the OOC thread or via e-mail if you need to catch my attention.]

Peter set up his poster featuring instructions on how to assist a badger in shock.

Badger or not, it was useful information.

Hallelujah! The Student Art Fair! Sakurazaki can finally stop worrying about her lame project!

Although, admittedly, as she sets it up, she's glowing a little bit with pride. For thinking she didn't have any artistic ability what-so-ever, this didn't look too bad.

She sets up her three favourites of her attempts to make pulp-style samurai film posters:

Three Black Ships (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v719/skylie/blackshipscopy.jpg) wasn't as impressive artisticly, but Sakurazaki was crazy about the historical significance.

Meanwhile, that samurai in Autumn Bridge (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v719/skylie/samuraiprincesscopy.jpg) looks awfully familiar.

But, personally, Sakurazaki thinks Cloud of Sparrows (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v719/skylie/cloudosparrowscopy.jpg) is the best one. Ninjas? could never go wrong.

She also wanted to include the one she had titled "The Head of Saigo Takamori," but was worried that Tick-sensei might disapprove of it's blood and violence, so she doesn't end up presenting it.

Friday's my weird day shift, and, since I'm used to closing and therefor being up all night like this, you just saved the the trouble of waking up early to get out the project before my shift. Huzzah!

Apparently you ca take the geek (http://pics.livejournal.com/twohalvesofaphd/pic/0000x0c1) out of the lab (http://pics.livejournal.com/twohalvesofaphd/pic/0000ysyf), but not the lab (http://pics.livejournal.com/twohalvesofaphd/pic/0000z2qe) out of thegeek (http://pics.livejournal.com/twohalvesofaphd/pic/00010psf).

Maia set up her toothpick and pea Eiffel Tower sculpture as well as her popsicle stick gallows. She had added a little pea toothpick stick man to swing in the noose since the first art class.
