Student Art Fair, Friday afternoon, Dorms Front Lawn

Since it was set to be a nice day, the Art Fair was laid out on the front lawn of the dorms.

When people entered, they were greeted with a selection of tissue paper flowers in colorful - mainly blue - vases. Beyond that, there was a number of displays from the various participating classes.

The Student Art Fair was open.

[OOC: Students with projects should start a subthread under their class for their project containing a description or link to a picture of their project. GOB's students should just get in place and perform for however long they want to. They are free to come and go.

Conversations in general areas should go under the General Conversation subthreads. Confusing, yes? Actual viewing and commenting on the different projects should go under the student's subthreads.

Have fun and enjoy the art! I'm turning notifications off but you can ping me in the OOC thread or via e-mail if you need to catch my attention.]

Veronica found the Photography area easily enough. She was slightly nervous about what her students might have chosen to display and wondered if she should have made them get her approval first.

She hoped that no one displayed anything that might get her fired.

As promised, Archie met Veronica at the art fair, ready to provide whatever moral support might be needed.

"Lieutenant Kennedy reporting for duty," he said as he came up beside her and took her hand.

"Hey," Veronica said with a smile, leaning over for a quick kiss. "Thank you for meeting me here. How was your workshop?"

Zack set up his photos.

Apparently you ca take the geek (http://pics.livejournal.com/twohalvesofaphd/pic/0000x0c1) out of the lab (http://pics.livejournal.com/twohalvesofaphd/pic/0000ysyf), but not the lab (http://pics.livejournal.com/twohalvesofaphd/pic/0000z2qe) out of thegeek (http://pics.livejournal.com/twohalvesofaphd/pic/00010psf).

"Pretty." Tim said. "Not making a Jekyll and Hyde potion are you?"

"No," Zack replied. "The chemicals you'd need for that are mostly colourless."

He wasn't sure if he was kidding or not. knowing this school he probably wasn't.

"Good to know."

As she passes around looking at the other projects, Sakurazaki can't help but gush that the second one is really quite striking.

"Well, the colors are certainly striking," Archie said. "What exactly did he take photos of?"

"Scientific lab equipment," Veronica explained. "Zack is very talented. He didn't take these for my workshop."

"They're fascinating," Archie replied. "They're so simple, and yet the colors and the swirl patterns . . ."

He had never been much of an art connoisseur, though, so he went back to just admiring the photos.

Cordelia was wandering through the exhibits when she came upon Zack's photos.

"These are kinda pretty," she said, turning to him.

Zack totally wasn't blushing. Really. "Thanks, Cordy."

Cameron wasn't all too sure about showing his pictures, but he was there anyway. He decided to stick to the pictures that Veronica had liked in class too; his blue pictures (http://cameronmitchell.livejournal.com/70973.html), one of the swingset pictures (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/901617.html?thread=44941809#t44941809) and the stickbug flag (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhighdorms/613047.html).

Archie tilted his head but not like that at the pictures. "Interesting," he said, "but in the modern vernacular, well, I don't quite get it."

Veronica chuckled. "The banana thing is a joke," she explained. "The pictures of the island were for the prompt 'blue'. And I guess Cameron just wanted to show off his Stickbug pride."

Jaye sets up a couple things. Because really, when you go to school here, might as well use what you're given.

Jaye blinks. "Yes, it is," she says.

Parker stops by on her way to get a snack. "I like the staircase. Where did you take that one?"

Apparently the staircase was popular, but Archie didn't know that.

"Why do I find that staircase shot so fascinating?" he asked Veronica.
