Karate, Gym, June 14th, Wednesday Morning

"Good morning, everyone," Tommy greets his class. "Sorry for not holding class last week- there was an... incident, that I had to take care of."

"Today, we're going to be learning the Meerkat style," Tommy says, and raises an eyebrow. "Yes, Meerkat. Which is, according to some of you guys, the natural enemy of the Stickbugs."

"Although the techniques of the Meerkat style can be adapted for one-on-one sparring," Tommy says as he runs through a demonstration, "they work best when you're working in concert with one or more other people. On that note, I'd like you guys to pair up, if you can, and find another pair to spar with."

"Don't hesitate to ask me if you have any questions."

Despite her fifty million and one distractions, Sakurazaki picks up on the Meercat forms pretty quickly. True, she occationally has to stop to wince and squirm her arms around to satiate the itches on her back. True, she finds herself repeatedly grinning and biting her lip with an expression of pure excitement toward Peter. But she had a plan for karate and she wasn't going to be swayed from it. She works on the forms, waiting for the opprotune moment to latch onto Ranma for a sparring partner.

Ranma picked this up like a fish does to swimming. He looks fairly elegant for once, like Jude on a skate board, the boy is finally in his element.

"Stickbug brother!" Peter greeted Tyler. "Think we can manage the form of the enemy?" He definitely had an air of what one could possibly call bounciness except that Peter didn't particularly bounce.

The Meerkat form was pretty easy for Alphonse to pick up on. He practiced it a bit on his own to get the hang of it, but he was definitely up for getting a partner if anyone needed one.

And, of course, Sakurazaki has to steal a bit of time to Alphonse. Typically, she would be insistant on just working during a workshop, but she'd been so busy and hadn't seen him since he returned. So she could slack off a little, considering the cicumstances. "Alphonse!" she greets him cheerfully. "How was your trip?"

Peter was already stretched out and warm from the gym so he moved immediately into trying the form. He wore the same type of air of suppressed excitement and glee as Sakurazaki did which ALMOST distracted him from the fact they were working on the enemies' form.

Dean studied the forms and ran through them quickly by himself. He was a little wary of sparring with others at the moment, given the extra strength and all he had right now. Sparring with Buffy was one thing -- he knew she could take it if he didn't hold back.

That wasn't the case with his classmates.

"Care to partner up?"

She was used to sparring with CJ, but now that she was gone, she sparred consistently with Cole. She was interested in learning techniques and strengths from others.

Lyta found a section of mat she could claim as her own and began working on some of the moves herself. If she had a partner, it was fine; if she didn't, that was fine, too. She was feeling a bit ambivalent today.

John starts by warming up. And then by tightening the sling on his right arm so it's less flappy. Hey, one handed (pawed?) meerkats can kick ass, right?

After his workout in the gym, Conner decides to go in search of Tommy's karate workshop. He never did find the answer to that possible invisibility-again thing, but now might be a good time to find out.

"Doctor O!" he yells, bounding up to his old teacher. "You're here! And you're not invisible!"
