Good morning, everyone! It's time for another summer of Anakin Skywalker Pretends This Teaches Team Building But Mostly Amuses Himself!

Or "Shenanigans."

The bleachers for viewing were set up in the park, close to the pond and near the Belthazor Commemorative Divot. Food vendors, remembering how this worked, had arrived with hot dogs, popcorn, and rum for the squirrels. And coffee. Just...so much coffee. Huge flatscreens were set up facing the bleachers, which the hint that today's event would not just stay inside the park, and the cameras were trained at...well, ankle height or the sky for now because squirrels and rum.

Anakin and his bullhorn were standing behind a folding table stacked high with brightly patterned shirts, and people who had been here before knew that just because the shirts were free, it never, ever meant you wanted to wear them.

"GOOD MORNING!" he boomed through the completely unnecessary bullhorn when enough people were gathered. "Welcome to another summer of team building activities!"

He might be waiting for a while if he was expecting cheers, just saying.

"Today, as has become tradition, we shall conduct a relay race around the island to acquaint you newcomers with where various stores and landmarks are!" he said. "Please listen as your name is called and then come up for your team-building clothing."

AKA: bizarre shirts.

"You will be in four teams of seven players each. You may not use your powers, should you have any, today."

Get Ready to Race!

Once the OCD goes up.

LEG 1

The first two members of each team (Jane & Mariner, Cal & Gale, Miguel & Steve M, and Lana & Steve R) must run from the park to the junkyard. There you must find a non-flat tire, three pieces of metal, and something shaped like a triangle or a pentagon. Take these supplies and run them alllll the way down (with the stairs) Loon Drive to the corner of Griffin Way where you'll meet your team member.

You next team member (Beaker, Rey, Jonathan, and Navaan) must turn these supplies into modern art. They have been given spray paint, welding supplies (oh no), and glitter. Their art must meet the standards of judge Intern Porg, who will give them a participation trophy when they are satisfied. The team member must then run that trophy over to the Sushi Station on the boardwalk and hand it to the next team member.

Rey was a decent artist when it came to drawing. Sculpture? Ehhh. However she also could put a bunch of metal together, and so she was totally ready for supplies.

Was Navaan also covered in spray paint and holding welding implements before her teammates even arrived? Well, it's Navaan so yes.

"IT'S ALIVE!" Navaan cackled. "It's aliiiiiive!"

It was a glittery statue of a dick. Please, Stewart, like you were the only one.

"Oh, dear lord." Jon struggled with the metal pieces before welding them in a kind of stick figure with the triangle bit as the head. He used the tire as a base, then covered the whole thing in silver paint and dumped glitter over it.

Look, it might not be the most inspired, but he was working with noodle arms and difficulties with his hand, so he was keeping it simple.

LEG 3

The next team member (Belle, Donald, Kamala, and Eleanor) must successfully three maki rolls that meet the standards of the handwavy chef at Sushi Station. The chef will hand you a gift card for a free miso soup which you must give to a rickshaw driver who will take you down the board and over to Party Palace to meet your next team members.

Eleanor hadn't really ever made a Maki roll before; she hadn't ever even had sushi before, and only really knew what it was in passing this place often. But it shouldn't be too hard if she just focused on how to do it and kept at it diligently until she did get it.

It helped to also keep tgat focus on her own work. If she started noticing how other people were doing,she knew she'd start messing up.

Don was a surgeon. He had very deft and steady hands. Sure, he had never done this before, but he had eaten sushi! He felt like he should have been much better at this than he was, and at some point he might have been heard muttering to the air, "I'd like to see you do it."

Look, it wasn't sushi but clearly no one had ever spent hours in a kitchen making rolled cookies for Eid a-Adh. Kamala's fingers nimbly placed the rice fillings on the bamboo mat and rolled them up like a champ.

"Done!" She said smacking her hands on the table and then throwing up two victory signs. Once the chef approved of her rolls she was out the door and jumping on the back of that rickshaw.

Belle had tried sushi before. Belle had no idea whatsoever how it was made.

Belle's rolls were not passing inspection on her first attempt. Sorry, teammates.

LEG 4

Over at Party Palace, the next team members (Raiden & Senshi, Eddie & Lydia, Stewart & Steph, and Stark & Mary) must inflate a dozen balloons using the helium machine and make one balloon animal each, and that balloon animal cannot be a snake, you potential cheaters. Once you're finished, hand off the balloons to your final team member.

"Okay," Raiden said to Senshi, "do they have balloons in your dungeon thing?" Might as well start there.

I'm sorry. Did you put Stewart in front of a helium machine and not expect him to use it to inhale some? And then throw up devil horns and rip oit put some good death metal screams in the squeakiest voice possible?

And then possibly then squeaking out, "Would a phallus count as an animal? Asking got a friend."

And then grinning because that was absolutely what he was going to do first.

As well as maybe shoving a handful of the balloon in his pocket to use later for....other things, don't worry about it.

Stark was grateful he hadn't had to do some other activities this morning and he was also looking despairingly at a balloon that really didn't want to be an animal.

"I have no idea how to make anything out of this."

Wait. He was a space person. Nobody would know if he made an alien animal that was unrecognizable!

Do you, final team member (Dean, Vi, Summer, and Arden), have to bring those balloons alllllllll the way back to the park? Of course you do! Can you just run there? Of course not! You must bunny hop.

And don't loose any of the balloons, please!

You know, Stewart's obvious obsession with dick-shaped things was a lot more charming in class when it was focused on weird banana recipes from the seventies and not manifesting in a giant balloon thwapping her in the face as she bunny-hopped back to thr park with his creations in her arms.

And you really had to go for a cat to go along with it, too, huh, Steph?

Arden was handed some kind of...she was just going to hope it really was some kind of alien animal otherwise somebody was in dire need of National Geographic documentaries, stat...and then had to bunny hop all the way back to the park.

Welp, here went nothing. And at least she'd have no problem knocking Dean down if it came to it!

Look, if Vi had been allowed to run back, she would've had this on lock. As it was, she tied the strings of the balloons to her belt so she wouldn't lose any of them, and started hopping.
