Good morning, everyone! It's time for another summer of Anakin Skywalker Pretends This Teaches Team Building But Mostly Amuses Himself!

Or "Shenanigans."

The bleachers for viewing were set up in the park, close to the pond and near the Belthazor Commemorative Divot. Food vendors, remembering how this worked, had arrived with hot dogs, popcorn, and rum for the squirrels. And coffee. Just...so much coffee. Huge flatscreens were set up facing the bleachers, which the hint that today's event would not just stay inside the park, and the cameras were trained at...well, ankle height or the sky for now because squirrels and rum.

Anakin and his bullhorn were standing behind a folding table stacked high with brightly patterned shirts, and people who had been here before knew that just because the shirts were free, it never, ever meant you wanted to wear them.

"GOOD MORNING!" he boomed through the completely unnecessary bullhorn when enough people were gathered. "Welcome to another summer of team building activities!"

He might be waiting for a while if he was expecting cheers, just saying.

"Today, as has become tradition, we shall conduct a relay race around the island to acquaint you newcomers with where various stores and landmarks are!" he said. "Please listen as your name is called and then come up for your team-building clothing."

AKA: bizarre shirts.

"You will be in four teams of seven players each. You may not use your powers, should you have any, today."

Now, now. There was nothing wrong with Shadowheart! Or even Lae'zel! They were doing their best with their terrible goddesses. Completely unlike Gale.

"The Force?" Gale asked, managing to speed up his pace just a bit as he was distracted by the conversation. "Is that a form of psionics, perhaps?"

Oh boy, how to explain the Force without sounding like a crazy person. "The Force is the essence that connects every living creature. Some people are able to tap into that essence to do different things. Some people call it magic, but it's not quite like that."

Ah, but he was explaining it to Magic George who should not be included as he threw off the statistics.

"That sounds very much like the weave," Gale replied with a fond smile. "Magic is a very simplistic term for something that is a fundamental part of reality and the natural order of things."

And sometimes died because they went and made a new version of D&D and change all the systems. Mystra, stay alive for once, would you?

"Okay, maybe we do understand each other," Cal said, because it really was that easy to win him over. "Can everyone in your world do magic, or only people born with a connection to the weave?" Surely that wasn't a complicated question over multiple versions of his universe!

"Well, that might be where things differ," Gale had to admit. "It is certainly available, but there are a variety of methods of accessing the weave. And even then, not everyone might feel the need. Which I cannot imagine, personally."

Because he was a big ol' magic nerd.

"I also can't imagine not being connected to the Force. It just makes everything easier." And he was lazy sometimes, so... "Of course, then you have the people who use it for the wrong purpose, but that can't be helped."

"Ah, the philosophical matter of good versus evil," Gale replied. "Where I must assume that the power itself cannot be one or the other as it must merely be neutral in all things to exist. It is in our choices where good or evil come."

Said the neutral good wizard.
