The Library

Janet was slightly out of breath from running across town to get to the school and open the library on time. And to get coffee while on the way.

"Just that Callisto was twitchy enough about something Angel must have done yesterday, and now they're reporting he has a crush on Liz. OR maybe this is their way of putting out a hit on her without having to pay for it." Parker shook her head. "Craziness. Anyway, did you figure out which dress you wanted? I'm still trying to decide."

"Ooooo. Those will look gorgeous on you." Parker grinned, picturing the earrings, then said, "Hair definitely up or away from your face, then, I'm guessing?" She grimaced. "If I could figure out which dress, I could figure out what the hell I'm doing with mine. No jewelry, the necklines are both wrong for it."

"Earrings, definitely. I have a pair that's perfect with either." And wearing her mom's would be a little like having her there. "Bracelet-- hmm. I think so. I need to find one that matches." She grinned. "You're going to look great, whichever one of those dresses you choose. And Alanna's got a great dress, and... did Sam ever decide on one?"

"They're silver, Art Deco dangles (http://www.faycullen.com/earrings/400/de226e4d.html). They were my mom's." Parker smiled a little. "Idiot Boy really is oblivious, isn't he? Everyone's freaking out about Prom, and he probably wonders if we're worried about Finals." She shook her head. "I missed seeing what Isabel got too; I'll have to stop by and check it out. We're all going to look absolutely terrific." Parker sighed. "I just hope the decorations are as well done. The guy with the ice sculptures hasn't called me back."

"He better be. I ordered them a week ago, he said he'd have them ready. How hard can it be to carve an ice castle?" Parker sighed, then grinned. "Oh, that's right, you don't know, I haven't seen you for a while-- Jarod. My date is Jarod. We're dating. A lot."

And there's a spinny-chair of wheee! moment there.

"We can always grab Idiot Boy after the Prom, and throw him in the duck pond, you know."

"Nope, not 'just' friends. Friends and way more than benefits or anything else that goes with it." Parker hugged herself. "And I appreciate that you didn't, actually. It took me a while to figure out, and Jarod as well. I don't think anything could've made it happen faster. God knows our writers weren't helping."

"Count on it. We'll get a conga line of volunteers, and shanghai him to City Park." She grinned. "After we've danced with all the guys and had a great time, of course."

"Yeah. Thank God Jarod is a lot more patient than I am." Parker grinned. "So, yeah. It's going good. And I have a date for prom, which puts me ahead of Jaye. I hope she's enjoying the alcohol I left for her."

Snickering, Parker said, "Oh, come on. It's not like they're asking us to foxtrot or anything. I'll even poke Jarod to go dance with you, if you want."

"That's not entirely true," Parker protested. "I can wait. Given sufficient motivation." WHich usually isn't on offer, let's be honest.

"Hey, if nothing else? I bet we'll get to see Angel and Aeryn in tiaras. There is nothing that couldn't make that fun."

Parker's giggling wasn't stopping any time soon either.
