Today when everyone arrived at the park, they would see the area filled with folding tables that were covered in red Solo cups in a distinctive triangle pattern.

Surely this could only end well!

"Today you will learned the distinctive summer sport of beer pong!" Anakin yelled through the loud speaker. "Of course, this being a school-sponsored activity, there will not be beer in the cups. There will be a variety of sodas and seltzers instead."

Oh yeah, he said seltzers.

"Working in teams of two, your goal is to land ping pong balls into the ten cups--and drink those cups' contents--before the other team does! Listen for your names!"

How many of you have already played beer pong? McGarrett, we see you.

Well. Soda Pong.

Billy and Beaker, you are drinking ten cups of grass soda. Kitty and Libby, yours is buffalo wing.

The RNG declares Kitty & Libby the winners, though there are really no winners in this game.

Graham and Sidon, you are drinking ten cups of sweet corn soda! Stark and Sakaki, you get the alcohol free bologna seltzer! HOW LUCKY ARE YOU.

Goose and Guillermo, you are drinking ten cups of ranch dressing flavored soda. Vi and Kurt, you get Mountain Dew pickle.

We are clearly living in a godless hellscape. Vi and Kurt, you win. For whatever win means today.

Rey and Alara, you get ten cups of Mountain Dew Baja Blast--looks like teal, tastes like pineapple sunscreen. Steve and Jo, enjoy that alcohol-free olive loaf seltzer!

Or make him drink your horrifying soda.

Why are there so many bad sodas? WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.

"Oh, man," said Summer, once she got a look at the set-up today and after she'd heard her name not among those being called down to participate. "I could totally kill at beer pong!"

But, of course, that would mean exposing Summer to more awful carbonated things to put into jello shots, and no one wanted that.

Well, except maybe Goose, who really shouldn't be trusted in this regard.

Sidon couldn't help but grin down (and down and down) at his teammate for this week's event.

"I believe," he said, throwing Graham a bit of a wink, as he loooooomed over the table with its various assorted cups, "we may have a bit of an advantage this week, Graham!"

Well. Sidon had an advantage this week, that was for sure, and there was a good chance that that advantage was going to be very crucial to their victory, because this could potentially spell nothing but disaster for Graham.

Still, he beamed up (and up and up) cheerfully at his teammate and gave a little pump of his fist. "Yeah! We've totally got this!"

Or, well, Sidon did. Sidon totally would have this...

Kitty had gone to college and ignored all the college parties. Obviously this was a mistake.

"This shirt's not terrible?" Kitty said, confused.

Billy looked at his partner and was pretty sure HE would be the one doing all the drinking in this game. Which had it been something decent he wouldn't have minded But GRASS SODA??? Where did you get these things Anakin.... no, wait. Nevermind. Don't answer that!

"Is Anakin feeling well? The shirts are very subdued."

That was worrisome, honestly.

"Who hates me?" Kitty demanded.

Sometimes Stark had terrible depth perception on account of only having the one eye.

Was Stark going to milk that for all it was worth to avoid hitting his cup targets even once? Absolutely.

Even though she'd just come from the store, where she'd spent a good hour having Saffron compete with cat Steph for her attention, Vi still looked around for Steph as she pulled her shirt on.

For her part, Vi had excellent hand-eye coordination, and well, even if Vander mostly hadn't actually served them to people, she'd been behind the bar enough to know there were a lot worse things they could be drinking. A lot worse.

Because of how she grew up, Libby thought a lot of more mainstream food and beverages were pretty weird and a little gross, so she was relieved to see the reactions of everyone else that reassured her that this was not normal, even for more worldly types.

But she did try to stay, above all, positive. "Maybe they're not as bad as they seem?"

Sakaki was also more than happy to try to throw her athletic prowess out the window for this one, especially once she actually had to drink some of their soda.

She tried, anyway, but she was just too naturally good, and her balls kept sinking into the cups, even when she threw them way off, and her stomach was sinking down into hee feet.

Thankfully, the other team's ~~shamelessly modded~~ enthusiasm and apparently genuine appreciation of their particular drink, nog to mention that Sidon didn't have to throw as much as drop his balls might work in her and Stark's favor.

"Of course," Rey said, putting on her shirt.

"Meep meep meep meep," Beaker said. From under the table.

Because he was short.

"I can neither confirm nor deny playing this a lot in my down time," Steve said, tossing a ping pong ball from one hand to another, "but never with soda."

Pickle? That was a new one. Kurt honestly was a fan of Mountain Dew... but even that wasn't convincing him this was a good idea.

"So.... that's an interesting flavor choice someone made" he said with a laugh as he looked at the cups laid out and then at Vi.

"I've never played, so you have an advantage," Rey said.

Mwahaha.

"I have faith you'll catch on quickly," Steve said.

And then do the Dew and try to maybe not be so good at it.

Goose did not have a problem with drinking the soda, however he had also never played ping pong before either so the odds of this turning out well weren’t very high.

Vi shrugged, it basically tasted like an overly sweet version of the stuff they'd drunk in Summer's class last week. "Could be worse," she said. "It doesn't have anything floating in it."

“I’ve never played ping pong before,” Jo admitted, feeling a bit awkward about what they were supposed to be doing.

Steve laughed. "Oh, this has nothing to do with ping pong, really. You take the ball and you throw it into one of the cups, then drink what's in the cup."

“You just drink it? That doesn’t sound very …er safe,” Jo wasn’t really sure what was worse.
