Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

It was Fall! It was stupidly humid today and it was about a billion degrees, but the picnic area was full of apples, pumpkins, and those decorative corn stalks that looked cute until it rained. There was food on tables--including more Cup Noodles than strictly necessary--and chairs scattered throughout the lawn in front of the castle.

Welcome, new and old, to Fandom High! It's only gonna get weirder.

[This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

"Nice to meet you as well. Did you have a good trip here?" Nell asked. "I know it can be, well, a little strange here when you first arrive."

Jo nodded, "it was rather a long trip but I got to the shuttle okay," she said, "the bus trip was rather weird,"

Jo had never ridden in a noodle bus before.

"Was it?" Nell said. She hadn't heard about the noodle bus yet. "I didn't arrive on the bus myself, so I don't know much about it."

"The bus was a giant noodle cup," Jo explained, "I think that's what I heard it being called, it was my first time catching a bus so it was rather different,"

"A noodle cup," Nell said wonderingly. "Huh... I don't think that's exactly normal, but then you'un will find Fandom can be pretty odd. Nice, but strange."

Jo nodded, "I thought Fandom High would be an all girls school," she admitted, "I've never been to a co-educational school before,"

"Oh, there's lots of everything here," Nell said. "I know it must be a shock, though, if you weren't expecting menfolk and all. I was taught at home till I was 12, then I just learned on my own if I could find a spare minute till I came here."
