Fandom High Welcome Picnic, Front Lawn of the School, All Day: Part I

It was Fall! It was stupidly humid today and it was about a billion degrees, but the picnic area was full of apples, pumpkins, and those decorative corn stalks that looked cute until it rained. There was food on tables--including more Cup Noodles than strictly necessary--and chairs scattered throughout the lawn in front of the castle.

Welcome, new and old, to Fandom High! It's only gonna get weirder.

[This is part one of the picnic, specifically for meeting siblings, roommates, and teachers. The rest of the picnic is happening here. Since it's outside, the picnic is open to all students, teachers, and townies!]

Prompto honestly had not expected that to work even a little, so, after a moment of blinking in surprise at Anakin, a grin blossomed on his face and his chest seemed to swell with an unexpected but very welcome sense of pride.

"I knew you'd like it," he said, just because apparently that was all the encouragement he needed to go back to totally pushing all his luck.

"It's okay," Prompto assured him, as if it could be their little secret. "You don't have to, man."

Prompto bit his lip against a grin and an urge to point out that Anakin hadn't said anything about not liking the noodle hat, because he also knew that it was so much better if he could just believe that it was true by exclusion.

But, to be fair, Anakin hadn't said anything about not liking the noodle hat.

"Duly noted," he said, clearing his throat to chase away that smirk so that he could better nod with the true seriousness that this topic required.

...it did not work.
