BWI Airport Portalocity Lounge, Saturday Morning
No more than a few minutes ago, Five had been waiting in Dallas, Texas in 1963 to make sure Kennedy died. The fact that he was in the future/past wasn't actually that strange for him. Because his job. The fact that he was now physically a teenager again, however, really was strange. And annoying.
Mostly annoying.
He grabbed a newspaper--it was 2021 somehow??--and a coffee to take a seat where he could unobtrusively observe people. The fact that he was basically a kid in an ill-fitting suit and sitting near a glittery sign that proclaimed this the pick up spot for Fandom High was just a side-note.

Wait for the Shuttle
Re: Wait for the Shuttle
She found the lounge and the sign - which, you know, she didn't exactly love but as long as the glitter didn't get on her and her head-to-toe black, she wouldn't care - and gave a little nod to Five in greeting before taking a nearby seat.
"Are you actually reading that or just trying to look busy while you wait?" she asked with very little inflection, nodding to his paper.
Re: Wait for the Shuttle
"Maybe it's to keep kids from asking me ridiculous questions like that."
Yep. Kids.
Re: Wait for the Shuttle
He looked like a total weirdo. But, you know. Total weirdos were kind of Lydia's people, so she also actually kind of meant it.
Re: Wait for the Shuttle
Look, he was here to stop the apocalypse, not go to school.
Re: Wait for the Shuttle
Re: Wait for the Shuttle
Yes. Yes, he did. Wait until he stole the terrible Umbrella Academy uniforms from his brother for something to wear.

It was wholly unfair. They'd hit him with a double-whammy of puppy dog eyes, and, at that point, he knew the effort of putting those puppies down would not outweigh simply bracing himself and bearing it.
So there he was, waiting very unnecessarily in an airport bus terminal, most certainly getting glitter on his otherwise immaculate jacket, and being incredibly disappointed with this excuse for what this world called coffee from a place called Starbucks. It was criminal that they should call it that, much less.charge what they did for it.
Which just lead him to pulling out his phone and texting Summer:
Please tell me you have managed to supply your store with the Ebony I mentioned to you by now
And then, to assuage the worry that had been setting low in his stomach all day since he.left, he texted Gladio:
Please ensure that Noctis sticks to his meal plan for the weekend. I don't want to return to a lethargic prince who should have known better.
And then he frowned at his phone waiting for either of them to reply, because this idleness would possibly be the death of him.
Re: Wait for the Shuttle
And then maybe a judgmental/confused look over the whole cell phone thing. Cell phones were for other canons, thanks.
Re: Wait for the Shuttle
"Excited for school, are you?" he tried.
He supposed a conversation would be better than glowering at his phone, anyway, tucking it away to be polite.
Re: Wait for the Shuttle
Re: Wait for the Shuttle
"Not particularly," he answered, with maybe a touch of dry humor in it, "no. But sometimes we have to try to make the best of the situation that has been handed to you..."
Or foisted persistently on you by two meddlesome and terribly stubborn blondes...

It was then she noticed the Newspaper outside of the place she was supposed to be ferried to school and saw the year.
“Oh, my. Mother. What have you gotten me into?”
Re: Wait for the Shuttle
...no offense, Pogo.
"Apparently the line for boarding school starts here," Five said, not looking away from his paper.
Re: Wait for the Shuttle
“Thank you,” Enola said briskly looking around again. Either the Americans were quite different when it came to fashions or...
Well. What was it her brother said? Once you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.
Well. This was quite improbable.
“I apologize for interrupting but is the date on that newspaper correct? Not a mistake?
Re: Wait for the Shuttle
Re: Wait for the Shuttle
Well at least the Swedes haven’t shown up!
“I see. So the date is wrong for you as well?” She asked as a woman walked by in denim pants! Goodness! Well. Clearly the Journal for Dress Reform was very successful! “I have a very strange feeling about this place. It is rather disconcerting.”
Re: Wait for the Shuttle
"By a few years, yes." He narrowed his eyes at her. "When are you from?"

And now she was here, in an utterly strange environment (it was very bright and very loud and very unnatural), surrounded by things that made no sense and people in very odd clothing. Of course, she was dressed like someone straight out of a fairytale and would likely look strange to the rest of them but that would occur to her later.
"Where am I?" she asked to no one in particular.
Re: Wait for the Shuttle
"Baltimore, Maryland. 2021," Five said, not looking up from his newspaper.
Re: Wait for the Shuttle
Were those names and the number meant to mean something? They did not. "Beg pardon? Maryland is a kingdom?"
Re: Wait for the Shuttle
Re: Wait for the Shuttle
"My father said he was sending me to a school. To keep me safe." Belle was clearly not a proponent of this plan. "I take it we're not there?" This certainly didn't look like her idea of a school. Or safe.
