The Library is Open (04/06)

Rory staggered in and opened the library during second period, nursing her second cup of coffee and looking very much the worse for wear.

[Goin' up early like whoa so I can sleep in and not worry about it. Rory'll be available for interaction around 1 EST.]

Sipping coffee.

Pretending to read.

The usual.

Now she was pretending to work on homework.

Silly Rory. We all know you already did your homework. You're fooling no one.

And she's left for Campaigning, where she'll undoubtedly be doing some productive staring into space.

The library is closed so the aides can eat in peace.

Rory has coffee and sour gummi worms.

So nutritious.

Rory's staring at the ceiling and trying to count the paint flecks.

She lost count after fifteen.

Three different times.

Rory's finally noticed the sand in her shoe.

And somehow, that makes the whole day crash down around her a little more, and she completely turns off emotions in order to focus on her research for Jung....

...which she has seventh period.

Maybe another ~~non-emo...or at least PRODUCTIVELY emo~~ aide can help?

Kurt smiled at Rory as he headed for his desk.

"Guten Morgen!" He called out as he waved cheerily.

Kurt headed out of the library, hoping to run into CJ and eat with her.

John has to get out of his room or go crazy. Crazier.

So, he's in the library, perusing the shelves and muttering heatedly with someone that doesn't seem to be there.

Rory waved back. "Guten Morgen, Herr Wagner," she replied sleepily.

Rory eyed John worriedly from her desk before getting up and going over to him.

"Hey," she said with a small smile. "Need help finding anything?"

It's always bad to be caught muttering to a hallucination who's currently wearing a very bright gold cap and gown.

"Ask her where to find the books on fossils!"

"Shut up," John says tightly. Turning quickly to Rory, he says, "Not you. Um. I'm looking for something on psychology."

"That's this way," Rory said worriedly, motioning for John to follow. "Um. Are you going to talk to someone about this whole -" she flailed a hand out "- thing?"

Angela managed most of a smile for the librarian and Rory. She might have had a LOT of coffee. "Hi!"

Rory tried for a smile.

Ah, failure.

"Hey."

"Oh, that was nothing."

Scorpius pouted at being called nothing.

"I was just really tired that day. Kinda hysterical," he says, following Rory. "I'm better now."

Angela blinked, unsure if Rory looked unhappy, or just undercaffeinated.

"Was today the class with Obi-Wan, or is that next week?"

"Good," Rory said, running a hand over her hair. "I'm already going crazy. Don't need to worry about you doing it too."

She came to a stop in front of a section of books. "Okay, anything specific on psych? Or just generalities?"

Rory wrote something down and passed the paper over to Angela.

Broke up.

"Disorders," he says. "For an extra credit project."

"I am not a disorder, John."

"No, you're a fungus. Shut up," he mutters quietly.

That was actually bad enough news to make Angela quit obsessing about herself for the moment.

I'm sorry.

For good, or for now? Maybe it was just a fight.

"Okay," she said slowly, selecting a few books. "We've got some stuff here about...hallucinations, schizophrenia, and multiple personality disorder." She pulled them off the shelf, looking worried again. "Unless you wanted something different."

Rory shook her head and circled the For good, underlining it.

Parker has brought another one of her gourmet picnics again. Brie cheese on crackers, grilled chicken tenders, Vietnamese spring rolls, Potstickers and crab wontons from Ching Tai, strawberries and chocolate-chocolate brownies. She's not sharing the spring water. Everything else is fair game.

She pushes some strawberries over at Rory. Woman does not live by gummi worm alone.
