Rory staggered in and opened the library during second period, nursing her second cup of coffee and looking very much the worse for wear.

[Goin' up early like whoa so I can sleep in and not worry about it. Rory'll be available for interaction around 1 EST.]

John has to get out of his room or go crazy. Crazier.

So, he's in the library, perusing the shelves and muttering heatedly with someone that doesn't seem to be there.

Rory eyed John worriedly from her desk before getting up and going over to him.

"Hey," she said with a small smile. "Need help finding anything?"

It's always bad to be caught muttering to a hallucination who's currently wearing a very bright gold cap and gown.

"Ask her where to find the books on fossils!"

"Shut up," John says tightly. Turning quickly to Rory, he says, "Not you. Um. I'm looking for something on psychology."

"That's this way," Rory said worriedly, motioning for John to follow. "Um. Are you going to talk to someone about this whole -" she flailed a hand out "- thing?"

"Oh, that was nothing."

Scorpius pouted at being called nothing.

"I was just really tired that day. Kinda hysterical," he says, following Rory. "I'm better now."

"Good," Rory said, running a hand over her hair. "I'm already going crazy. Don't need to worry about you doing it too."

She came to a stop in front of a section of books. "Okay, anything specific on psych? Or just generalities?"

"Disorders," he says. "For an extra credit project."

"I am not a disorder, John."

"No, you're a fungus. Shut up," he mutters quietly.

"Okay," she said slowly, selecting a few books. "We've got some stuff here about...hallucinations, schizophrenia, and multiple personality disorder." She pulled them off the shelf, looking worried again. "Unless you wanted something different."

"All of them," he says. "I mean, I'll take a few of them."

"She's short." Scorpius has his head tilted and he's staring at Rory.

"No, she's not." A swipe near his shoulder and he smiles at Rory. "How're you doing?"

"Not my best," Rory replied, looking curious. "Do we have gnats in here again?"

"Yes, that's what you are," John says, talking to some area near his shoulder. "A gnat. Shut up."

The first part of her answer catches his attention. "Oh? Anything I can do?"

"Campaigning. Ad campaigns for a candidate I can't really get behind. I'm definitely not going into politics." She cocked an eyebrow at Angela. "You ready for this weekend?"

"I thought you had already decided that after the last two student council campaigns," Angela pointed out. "And ... yeah, I guess." She made a face. "I can't promise I'll be good company, though. Yesterday I was talking to Nadia Santos at the boykissy thing and it turned into Emofest 2006."

"True. And that's okay if you're down. God knows I won't be a ray of sunshine." Parker cocked her head. "How's Nadia doing? I talked to her on Tuesday, and she didn't even mention the thing with Marty, but she had other bad weirdness happen last weekend on top of it. That girl needs a vacation."

Angela sighed. "She didn't tell me about the other bad stuff this weekend. She told me lemurs had attacked them in the lunchroom, though. It does seem like she's having an even worse week than me."

She perked up momentarily. "Speaking of which, I got flowers yesterday. I hope that means he's safe, somewhere."

"Yay. And it'd have to, if he has time to stop and order them for you." Parker smiled hopefully. "You can still send him e-mail from my place this weekend too, so he doesn't worry." She looked thoughtful. "Did he say how he'd know when it's safe to come back?"

Angela smiled. "I got Janet to give me his laptop," she said. "I'm pretty sure it has a wireless thingie. But thank you."

She looked throughtful at Parker's next sentence. "I don't know. He was in a hurry, I was really upset ... he said he needed to check on his mom and Marcella, but it sounded like there was more to it than that. It might be a week, it might be -" she swallowed. "Next fall. If..." She couldn't finish the thought.

"Sure." Parker considered what Angela said, then pointed out, "Either way, he'll let you know as soon as he's sure. You won't be left hanging, wondering about when he can come back, as long as he stays in contact. This is only temporary."

"I know." Parker looked regretful. "I'm sorry." Trying to think of something cheerful, she said, "I've got a tape of Xander in his high school talent show that I'm going to show on Monday night, I think. We should have a movie night, bring out any of our other stuff. The pageant tape. That's always funny."

Angela managed a smile at that. "We should watch the pageant, sure." Then she remembered the blue-tighted minstrel and iclined her head toward Rory. "Unless it might be too hard for some people to watch."
