School Auditorium: MSND Rehearsal (1-5 p.m. FST)

All members of the production got an email this morning telling them to report to the auditorium at 1 p.m. EST to rehearse acts I and II and the "extra" bits of the play. When they gather, they will find Dream sitting on the bare stage, looking rather impatient.

"You are here to rehearse the play. I believe you can manage that. If you are playing the Tooth Fairy,
Steve Austin, Jaime Sommers, Lobster, Drunken Pirate, Kickass Ninja or Chuck Norris, please report to the orchestra pit to discuss your roles with me. Otherwise, read through Acts I and II in their entirety."

That said, Dream moves to the orchestra pit and takes a seat. He may be waiting for the student directors to join him.

Lana came over and sat down beside her. "I think I could use a nap myself," she said.

"Mm. It's been quite a week." Parker pulled her earbuds out of her ears and attempted to be awake. "What did you get up to?"

"Kind of a mix of best of times, worst of times," Lana said ruefully. "Best was getting to spend lots of time with Shep. Worse was trying to help Angel. Not that I could do much more than sit with him and keep him company from time to time. Oh, and I got a job at the bookstore."

She smiled at Parker. "How was England?"

"A mix of ridiculous and sublime. Some minor felonies, no arrests, a transformation or two, and the usual tourist stuff." Parker shook her head. "God knows what kind of trip it would've been without running around looking for items for Angel's potion. I'm glad you had a good break." She cocked her head. "You're working at Aereopagitica? With Mr. Giles?"

"It certainly wasn't the break any of us had envisioned," Lana replied. "Yeah, at Aereopagitica with Mr. Giles. Kind of a weird first week. He was hardly around - doing research to help Angel. I was pretty much on my own. Which was fine."

She yawned, covering her mouth. "Sorry, not the company, I promise. So... you going to the party for Angel tonight? Janet roped me into helping with decorations and stuff."

"Mmm. More than likely. Someone's got to whap him into line and keep him from doing too much. I'm sure Callisto could do it if she weren't so relieved. But I'm happy to step in." She shook her head. "I can't believe we have classes tomorrow. And I've got library. No one better expect me to be helpful."

"Oh God that's right. Classes start up tomorrow. I'm working in the morning, then classes, then club - Angel should be there so I can keep an eye on him then..."

She looked around. "Not the most lively of rehearsals. I think we're all too exhausted to be much good."

"Possibly." Parker looked around, her eyes narrowing, then her mouth twitched. "And my part in this act is tiny, and Lee and I have already rehearsed it. Do you want to be Hermia or Helena? Since Nadia's chatting over there, and Callisto's not here yet."

"Sure," Lana replied. "I can read either of them. It would be fun to actually say some lines other than 'And I!' and 'Hail!'" She grinned. "Do you want to just run the lines or do you want to go up on stage and run through it with the blocking?"

"Why not? If Nadia or Callisto get here, we can hand if off to them, with our 'improvements'," Parker said with a grin. "Dibs on Hermia!"

She went upstage and flipped through to Act I, Scene I, when Helena comes to hear about how Hermia's father was ordering marriage or death. "Your cue, madame."

Lana took her place. "From 'God Speed, good Helena' then?"

She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear as she foudn her place in the script and launched into the beginning of the speech.

"Call you me fair? that fair again unsay.
Demetrius loves your fair: O happy fair!
Your eyes are lode-stars; and your tongue's sweet air
More tuneable than lark to shepherd's ear,
When wheat is green, when hawthorn buds appear.
Sickness is catching: O, were favour so,
Yours would I catch, fair Hermia, ere I go.."

She finished with a toss of her head.

Parker affected the most innocent, hopelessly sweet expression possible, and shrugged her shoulders. "If I frown upon him, he loves me still."

Lana pouted, tossing her hair, "O that your frowns would teach my smiles such skill!"

"I give him curses, yet he gives me love." And a doe-eyed look over at Xander, the nearest guy in the room, followed by a but-I'm-so-nice, how-can-you-hate-me? look at Lana.

Lana's eyes narrowed. "O that my prayers could such affection move!" She glanced over at Xander herself and moved to put herself in the sightline between him and Parker.

Nadia overheard some rather familiar sounding lines and checked her script. And checked her script again.

"Wait, that's my part." She looked over at Parker, then back at her script. "Did I get recast? What did I do wrong?"

There may have been flailing, too.

"The more I hate, the more he follows me." Parker sighed sadly, then caught a glimpse of Nadia's expression, and blinked. "Um, what?"

Nadia now knew Parker well enough to know better than to risk her wrath by doing something like claiming to have been cast for a part she was reading.

"Nothing. I just, um," she looked at her script. "I'm confused. I thought that . . ." she flailed a bit more. "Isn't . . . weren't you guys . . . ?"

Lana winced. "Sorry, we were just... playing around while we waited for more people to come in."

Nadia relaxed. "Oh. Okay. Um, mind if I watch?"

"Oh, good," Molly said as she made her way over to them. "I was worried we weren't going to be fairies anymore."

Parker nodded, rolling her eyes. "None of the other fairies are here, and Oberon is late, damn his eyes. Of course you can watch." Parker grinned at Molly. "Do you want to run Hermia's lines for a while?"

Molly looked at Nadia. "Well, Nadia's here. She can run her own lines and I could do someone else's." She looked at the script. "I could read Lysander's lines instead."

"I'm good with whatever. Parker and I were just bored sitting around."

Lana paused then looked a little mischievious. "Or we could always do dueling Hermias and Helenas."
