BWI Airport Portalocity Lounge- Saturday morning
A few days ago Gwen saw New York destroyed and drowned and her friend/roommate/surrogate brother type was presumed dead for a while- got a really amazing obituary for his alter-ego and everything. Today she was waiting for a portal that was going to take her to a school in Maryland. She was actually looking forward to school, just to get back to doing normal things again, but the timing was weird.
She seemed to be the first one here, and the banner meant she was probably in the right seat, so.
Gwen would be the sullen-looking girl sitting under the glittery Fandom High banner and showing too much midriff. And occasionally brushing at the top of her head with her hand because she was convinced the glitter was probably raining down on her.

The Trip to Fandom
Re: The Trip to Fandom
... Mostly optional. But Reno was licensed to drive a helicopter, and the shuttle was likely to spend almost as much time airborne, so he was counting it close enough.
"All aboard for Fandom High, yo!"
If any of you newbies are the praying type, you might want to start doing that now.
Re: The Trip to Fandom
Either way, she was already on the bus.
Re: The Trip to Fandom
It was probably actually the first very-nearly-legitimate-if-you-squinted classes he'd ever taught. He was kind of proud of himself.
Re: The Trip to Fandom
Oh you just wait, Gwen.
Re: The Trip to Fandom
And then, realizing that he'd exhausted pretty much every typical high school course not taught by a high-tech simulation, he shrugged and added, "meditation and ass-kicking..."

Re: The Trip to Fandom
Who wouldn't be into ass-kicking?

For Fandom, it was probably one of the less strange things about the faculty.
Hell, it was one of the less strange things about Reno.

Re: The Trip to Fandom
Said the guy who can just eight feet into the air from a standstill and run straight up a wall just because.
Re: The Trip to Fandom
He did not flame on. He was so tempted to, but he didn't want to melt the bus.
Re: The Trip to Fandom
"Yeah, I'm a fan. That and lightning, yo. Probably for the best I don't teach a chem class at the school, though. We'd burn the whole damn island down within the first week."
It would be awesome.

Guess which galaxy the slightly mouthy redhead's from, Reno. Go ahead.
Re: The Trip to Fandom
"Yeah, you're gonna have to take the wheels thing up with the Dean," Reno replied, gleefully fobbing that headache off on Anakin. "If I had my way, we'd be flyin' to the island, yo. Faster. Way more opportunity to scare the shit outta newbies by doin' barrel rolls..."
Re: The Trip to Fandom
This was a stupid, stupid planet. And she'd been to the Outer Rim.
Once.
But it counted!
Re: The Trip to Fandom
And for anyone who had ever counted the wheels on a school bus...

Re: The Trip to Fandom
Hovering was kind of a new addition, mind. Thanks for that one, Rikku!

...
...
Right. This was very much not what Evie had been expecting. She supposed she was grateful that they didn't send out a bunch of orderlies in scrubs, but...
Maybe she could take a picture of him and send it to her mom. Caption it Well-supervised, thanks.
"You're the bus driver?" For reals? Not just another student suffering from delusions?
Re: The Trip to Fandom
Gods, he'd be almost flattered to still be mistaken for a student, if he cared all that much about how old he looked.
"You a student?"
For reals? Not, like, a bus driver or anything?
Re: The Trip to Fandom
"Nah," Evie returned, Southern drawl even thicker than usual. "I just like hitchhiking on weird buses. Makes it easier to travel with all my luggage."
Re: The Trip to Fandom
Re: The Trip to Fandom
Look, she and her mother had told everyone that she'd spent the summer at special school for deportment. After all, it was never too early to start prepping for those competitive sororities in the South. So talking openly about it now was very unsettling.
"I can hardly wait, I'm sure."
