BWI Airport Portalocity Lounge- Saturday morning

A few days ago Gwen saw New York destroyed and drowned and her friend/roommate/surrogate brother type was presumed dead for a while- got a really amazing obituary for his alter-ego and everything. Today she was waiting for a portal that was going to take her to a school in Maryland. She was actually looking forward to school, just to get back to doing normal things again, but the timing was weird.

She seemed to be the first one here, and the banner meant she was probably in the right seat, so.

Gwen would be the sullen-looking girl sitting under the glittery Fandom High banner and showing too much midriff. And occasionally brushing at the top of her head with her hand because she was convinced the glitter was probably raining down on her.

Reno probably would have just given him a casual once-over before dumping his coffee on him.

"Yeah, I'm a fan. That and lightning, yo. Probably for the best I don't teach a chem class at the school, though. We'd burn the whole damn island down within the first week."

It would be awesome.

"Seriously, this is already better than the last time I went to a normal school," Johnny said. "Clearly I'm a genius for making this decision.

"Don't celebrate too much yet, though," Reno chuckled. "We got a few geniuses already, and just because they got the smarts don't mean they're gonna graduate earlier than anyone else."

Which one or two students would probably lament a little more once they swapped genders the first time, at least.

"Hey, don't rain on my parade. My sister's got like twenty PhDs," Johnny said. "I'm celebrating where I can."

"Yeah?" Reno pursed his lips thoughtfully for a moment, and then shrugged. "If you like fire, bars that don't cared, and pretty people, you'll probably enjoy this place, man. Go on and commence celebratin', yo."

"Wait, we are positive that this isn't a weird dream I'm having about the best possible school, right?" Johnny checked.

"I'd offer to pinch you to check, but that'd be weird," Reno replied. "Place makes up for it in other ways, but you wouldn't believe me about 'em if I told you."

"Trust me, buddy, you wouldn't believe what I'd believe," Johnny chuckled.

Granted, right now he believed that Reno was just trying to psych out the world-famous Human Torch. And Reno probably would believe that Johnny believed that, if he had any idea that Johnny called himself the Human Torch.
