Library, 1/31

Well-armed with coffee and muffins from her trip to the Perk, Angela sets up camp behind the collections desk. Idly, she wonders where the Librarian is.

In between bursts of library work, she's trying to read some Flannery O'Connor short stories. Yet, somehow, she can't keep her mind on the words.

But she is there to help with all your library needs.

She is sipping her coffee like a weapon.

She's inspecting the file of library card applications. No frogs. Yet.

She's in History of Art. Maybe someone else could help you?

She's back from class, and reshelving some returned books.

Angela is trying to read. It's not going so well.

It's almost the end of the day. To celebrate, she eats the last muffin.

She seems to be watching the door for someone as she wipes down the collections desk and prepares to close the library.

Before lunch, Bel headed into the library to do some innocent research. Instead of going to the stacks, he approached Angela. "Hey," he said in greeting, "can I ask you to help me out?"

Angela raised an eyebrow and did her best to keep her expression neutral otherwise.

"Possibly?"

Blair comes in and waves before sitting and pulling out his laptop.

Angela waves back. "Hey, Blair. Happy Tuesday."

Bel leaned on the counter. "I'm looking for a good book on Japanese history, and one on Japanese weaponry. Got any recommendations?"

"Happy Tuesday back, Angela!" Blair bounces happily. "Have a good weekend?"

Angela looks at Blair like he's crazy. "I didn't get hurt too badly, I guess," she says, holding up her still-bandaged hand. "But I can do without the monster invasions. How about you? Did you stay all warm and dry?"

"Ouch. That's horrible!" Blair points up to the bandage on his forehead. "Mostly dry. Just got a bump trying to negotiate peace. Apparently the snowmonsters weren't interested."

"Researching ninjas?" Angela asks, not quite idly. "Zero was reading a book about them yesterday..."

She shrugs and turns to the library computer, typing in Bel's request. "It looks like there's a book called "The Samurai Archives" that's supposed to be good for history, and there's something called "Japanese Weaponry," too. They're both over on those shelves near the study room," she finishes, pointing to the rear of the library. "I could pull them for you if you want."

"Hey, Angela," Lee says, waving in greeting.

"Sure, that'd be great, thanks," Bel said, giving Angela a charming smile. "Not exactly looking for ninjas," he went on. "Just have an interest in Japanese weaponry. Kind of a pet project for the Sociology of Violence."

"Ouch," Angela winces. "But I love that you tried. I don't think anybody bothered to talk peace to the zombies last fall. Not that it would have worked, but, you know, I'd rather we didn't have to kill stuff."

"Hey, Lee. How goes it?"

"Oh, you're taking that with Grissom, too?" Angela says. "By the way, the quiz yesterday in Paranormal was killer. Especially when we were fighting snow monsters instead of studying all weekend. I guess Grissom didn't plan on that when he wrote it."

"Still a bit sore from this weekend, but all in all, pretty well. You?" he asks.

"I thought that somebody should, although after getting beaned I wasn't thinking about peace either. I don't think there's anything wrong with people defending themselves especially against mean evil things."

Bel had the decency to look a little guilty. "Dr. Grissom didn't leave a lesson plan, so I kinda came up with that myself," he said. "Seemed the easiest thing to do. But don't worry, I'll grade easy." He winked at Angela.

"My hand still hurts, but other than that I'm okay," Angela says, waving her bandage. "Rory told me she saved you with coffee."
