Library, 1/31

Well-armed with coffee and muffins from her trip to the Perk, Angela sets up camp behind the collections desk. Idly, she wonders where the Librarian is.

In between bursts of library work, she's trying to read some Flannery O'Connor short stories. Yet, somehow, she can't keep her mind on the words.

But she is there to help with all your library needs.

"Hey, Lee. How goes it?"

"Still a bit sore from this weekend, but all in all, pretty well. You?" he asks.

"My hand still hurts, but other than that I'm okay," Angela says, waving her bandage. "Rory told me she saved you with coffee."

"Yeah, it was some seriously impressive quick thinking," he says, amused. "I could have died out there!" he quips. "What happened to your hand?" he asks before remembering, "Oh, the oil, you burned yourself, right?" and he shudders.

"Plus coffee's supposed to be good for your hair. So, really, she was just thinking of you," Angela smiles.

"And yeah, oil. My gloves kept it away from my skin a little, so the burn's not too bad. And Isabel Evans gave me some Vitamin E lotion, so that should help a little."

"Coffee's supposed to be good for your hair?" Lee asks, astonished. He absently reaches up to ruffle his seven-hair-product-treated hair. "Really?"

"Oil burns are the worst," Lee says, grimacing. "But we have a very capable medical staff," he says. "I think."

"It's supposed to bring out, like, red highlights, I think? They use it in henna sometimes, anyhow," Angela says with a shrug. "And I can't talk about the medical staff. This guy who's opening a record store in town wrapped my hand. I mean, he did a good job, but I was kind of surprised Dr. House wasn't in the med tent."

Lee can't wait to test this out on his own hair now. He might be starting to bounce in place a little.

"What? That's ... bizarre," Lee says. "Dr. House did an excellent job of patching Kara up when she frakked up her knee. Huh."

"Yeah, Vice-Principal Pierce and the counselor seemed to be in charge," Angela says with a shrug. "Maybe Dr. House was out of town, or something. I know they did a good job with Rory and Logan after ... the thing in November."

"Huh, well. Anyway, beside the past weekend of doom, how've you been?"

"I'm still kind of getting over the weekend, but not too bad," Angela says. "There's a lot going on, y'know?"

"What about you?"

"Keeping busy, I guess?" he says.

"Good plan. See you around, Lee."

"Err...okay?" he replies, a bit confused.

Angela heard the confusion in his tone and rubs her eyes, attempting a smile.

"Sorry. I thought you were, like, ready to leave, and I have stuff to do here, so .... god, I probably sounded like an idiot."

"No no no, it's okay," Lee says quickly. "I'm interrupting your work, my apologies. I'll just go...err... get a book. Have a great day, Angela!"

"You too, Lee." Angela says, still feeling very, very stupid. "See you in art next period."

Given her awkward chat with Edward at the coffee shop, she wonders if she should just give up on talking to men for the day.
