Announcement and Refugee Hosting in The Gym, Friday Evening

The P.A. crackles to life.

"We shall be opening our doors to the poor, powerless townsfolk. They are to gather in the gym. Volunteers to help organize blankets, bedding, food, and etcetera would be very welcome."

Smith then walks down to the gym, props open the doors, and walks away. This was going to be a mess, and he felt ignoring it would be the best method to deal with it, rather than letting his head explode. Again.

[ooc: Huzzah! Townies can come to this post for their safety and warmth! Screening is disabled! Students and Teachers are welcome to organize something... but as it's an emergency, we hath not actually organized the refugee effort! Organize! Be Swift! But above all, interact and have fun!]

"Dean Washburn," Fraser says, greeting her, "Glad to see you've not been stranded out in the storm. How are you this evening?"

"Rather cold, actually" Zoe replies, smirking. "But glad I didn't get caught outside. How are you doing?"

"Considering the circumstances, I'm doing well," Fraser says. "The students did a remarkable job of organizing things and everyone's been very calm and cooperative so far. Would you like me to get you something warm to drink? Coffee? Tea?"

"It certainly could have been worse, I'll say that. And I'm amazed at how well the students got organized. Every time I think they can't surprise me more, they do," Zoe replies. "I could probably use some coffee, if you could point me in the direction where I'd find it."

"It most definitely could've been worse. Having removed two weapons from people tonight without incident was also a positive," Fraser adds. "The coffee is somewhere..." He glances towards the area he'd last seen coffee and points. "Somewhere over there. It's been quite the popular beverage since people from the town started arriving.

Zoe grumbles softly at the mention of weapons. "We should have thought to remind the townspeople not to bring their weapons at all. But, it'll be something to keep an eye on. I'm glad, and not terribly surprised, that you were able to get the weapons away without a problem."

"Actually, one was a student who'd received the weapon in a mailing and contacted me about it immediately. The other person was from town and slightly confused about his whereabouts." Fraser smiles. "That's very kind of you to say, Dean."

Hurrying by with his cane tucked under his arm, the Baron slowed when he heard her request. "Madam, you can find coffee this way, if you'll follow me," he said with his customary bow."

"Oh. Thank you," Zoe said. Coffee would definitely help her get through the rest of the night.

"Right this way," he said politely, and led her towards the hot beverage line, nodding to Alfred as they passed, his tail swishing. "I am Baron Humbert von Gikkingen, madam," he introduced himself gravely.
