Announcement and Refugee Hosting in The Gym, Friday Evening

The P.A. crackles to life.

"We shall be opening our doors to the poor, powerless townsfolk. They are to gather in the gym. Volunteers to help organize blankets, bedding, food, and etcetera would be very welcome."

Smith then walks down to the gym, props open the doors, and walks away. This was going to be a mess, and he felt ignoring it would be the best method to deal with it, rather than letting his head explode. Again.

[ooc: Huzzah! Townies can come to this post for their safety and warmth! Screening is disabled! Students and Teachers are welcome to organize something... but as it's an emergency, we hath not actually organized the refugee effort! Organize! Be Swift! But above all, interact and have fun!]

Pippi stood off to the side a bit with two rubbermaid totes (http://static.flickr.com/24/91967446_0973c1aa15.jpg?v=0) looking at Tommy with her head tilted to the side.

"To know what you need." she said shifting the two stacked totes to one hand and putting the other on her hip like the saucy little brat she is.

"I was just gonna parse all this extra emergency stuff I had out to the various stations that seem to be set up but Blair said you were in charge so... Is that okay? ... Sir?" she's not being snarky, or ironic, or disingenuous. She is completely pleasant and smiling... Probably the exact opposite of Tommy.

The smiling is creeping him out. But she's a kid and she's perky, so... "Got any games in there?"

Pippi pulled off the lid of the top tote and pulled out a plastic bag from the Emporium. In it were boxes for checkers, chess, Clue, Trouble, at the bottom one could make out a deck of cards and a box of plastic poker chips.

"Come on now... I'm a kid. Of course I brought games." she grinned. "We also have a large supply of really bouncy balls around here somewhere." she mused.

"Hold off on the balls for now," Tommy said. He looked around and found an empty spot. "Think you can go over there and set the games up for anybody who wants to play?"

"Kay." she said, dropping the bag back in the tote.

Before she closes it back up, Tommy may or may not notice that it's mostly full of canned goods.

She picks the two totes back up with one hand. "You look like a poker guy to me." she said as she turned to go. "You should take a load off and come play."

"Maybe later," Tommy said. Sure he could've noticed the canned goods but that would require paying attention to things. "You have fun, sweetheart."
