Announcement and Refugee Hosting in The Gym, Friday Evening

The P.A. crackles to life.

"We shall be opening our doors to the poor, powerless townsfolk. They are to gather in the gym. Volunteers to help organize blankets, bedding, food, and etcetera would be very welcome."

Smith then walks down to the gym, props open the doors, and walks away. This was going to be a mess, and he felt ignoring it would be the best method to deal with it, rather than letting his head explode. Again.

[ooc: Huzzah! Townies can come to this post for their safety and warmth! Screening is disabled! Students and Teachers are welcome to organize something... but as it's an emergency, we hath not actually organized the refugee effort! Organize! Be Swift! But above all, interact and have fun!]

Archie appeared with several blankets, rather rough-looking things in that drab grey-blue military issue style, dragged out of his sea chest. "I'm afraid these aren't the finest or most comfortable blankets in the world, but every bit of warmth will help, I imagine," he told Blair apologetically.

Blair took the blankets and added them to the pile. "Thanks a load, man. It's awesome that you're willing to donate something!"

"I've been in such situations before myself," replied Archie with a sympathetic smile for the town refugees milling about. "There have been times I'd have been glad for a blanket half as nice as these. Is there anything else I can do around here to help?"

"I'm sorry to hear that, man. But now you'll get good karma from helping other people out!" Blair nodded and waved a hand. "There's loads to do, actually. We need to find places for these people to sleep, any ideas?

"I'd be more than willing to give up my bed for the night," replied Archie, wondering vaguely what 'karma' was. "I've a hammock in my room that I can sling up somewhere."

He nodded over toward Maia and her sign. "She seems to have that idea well in hand; I'll go speak to her."
