Welcome Dance - the Gym

The streamers and banners are up. So are a zillion multi-colored helium balloons.

The floor is cleared, and the bandstand is up at the north side of the room, ready for Dusted Bunnies to take their places.

The refreshment table, with the (as yet) unspiked punch is in place. There are chips and stuff as well, Chex mix, a few nachos and some guacamole.

After heading over to check out the band for a while, Pip and Shep head back for the punch bowl. It was hot near the stage lights, so Shep grabs a fresh cup of lemonaide from the bowl and chugs it. He thinks it might taste a little off, but he was drinking the punch before, so maybe it's just not his usual lemonaide.

Pip grabas a cup and sips at it. He squints his one eye critically, then nods and smiles. "Yep," he says. "Some dear, wonderful soul has arranged to make this party much more fun. I could kiss them."

"Dude, I would seriously wait until you know who you're referring to before you say that. For all you know it could be... I don't know the principal or something. Well, okay, not him, but that other one - Hawkeye - so wouldn't put it past him. And do you really want to end up making out with him?"

Not missing a beat, and without turning around, Shep answers, "If he's not careful, Pip and that new administrator Pierce."

Lana smiles at Pip. "Hey, I met you your first day. I'm Lana."

She leans in and kisses Shep lightly. "So, what kind of trouble are you two getting yourselves into?"

Pip shrugs. "There are worse fates. I could be making out with Smith. Or Zordon, for that matter."

"I wouldn't mind," said Pippi as she came off the dance floor. "He seems nice. What would we be making?"

She assumes this has something to do with the santaty of bread products.

Shep nearly chokes on his third glass of juice. "Small children," he mumbles under his breath.

Pippi crinkles her nose in puzzlement.

"I have definitely missed something." she says slowly as she reaches for a lemonade and takes a sip.

"... Hello Grandma!"

The next time someone goes to talk to Shep, they will discovered that where he was once leaning against the wall, he has no sunk down it and is fast asleep on the floor. He isn't exactly passed out, he should be of some assistance to whomever decides they need to drag his ass to bed, but not much.



[ooc: the mun really MUST go to bed now. Han, Lana, Pip, feel free to manhandle Shep anyway you see fit until detention tomorrow. Or, you know, don't. Let him wake up on the gym floor. Whatever. :)]

Logan walked into the dance with Cordelia and walked over to the punch bowl table.

Cordelia grinned at Logan. "Think anyone's spiked it yet?" she asked.

"One way to check," Logan said. He poured himself a cup of punch and tasted it. "Yep," he grinned. He poured another cup and handed it to Cordelia.

"Perfect," Cordy said, taking the cup from Logan and taking a sip. "So. A dance. Have you been to any other dances here?"

"I went to Homecoming," Logan said. "We had dinner at this really creepy place beforehand. Thought it was going to be a nice, private dinner. Which, yeah, private - just our party - but nice? Not so much. We were afraid of what might've been in the food, so no one ate anything."
