Welcome Dance - the Gym

The streamers and banners are up. So are a zillion multi-colored helium balloons.

The floor is cleared, and the bandstand is up at the north side of the room, ready for Dusted Bunnies to take their places.

The refreshment table, with the (as yet) unspiked punch is in place. There are chips and stuff as well, Chex mix, a few nachos and some guacamole.

Pippi thinks the cute boy with a fondness for hair product is making fun of her perhaps?

"You're listing to starboard there Shep." she says as she finishes off her cup, "How many have you had?"

Shep over corrects, tipping to port. "Five," he tells her... holding up six fingers this time.

Finally somebody worse at Math then she is! She helps him straiten up and leans him against a table. Then gets herself another "lemonade".

"You said you were from a military family," she said, "Would that be the navy by chance?"

"I'll have you know that I took the MENSA test." He leans on the table gratefully and flashes Pippi a grateful smile.

"Air Force. Several generaliza... no... gestation... no... generations. Yeah, that sounds better."

Pippi was clearly very impressed that John had taken the MENSA test, except that she didn't know what that was.

By "Air Force", she assumed that he spent much of his time up in the sky perhaps.

"Huh. You struck me as somebody who's spent a lot of time on the open ocean." She said.

Pippi ponders this... Has an air of the open sea but the manner of somebody who lived on the shore...

"Yup, I'd say that covers it."

She looks at Shep and then remembers what Fredolf once said about what it would take to get him to dance...

"Would you like to dance?"

Pippi looked over at Lana.

"Ah yes, but I waited until he was really drunk to ask him! So his judgment is impaired and he's not worried about looking stupid so he can enjoy himself." she answered smiling.

Lana thinks over the logic of this. "I think that's a good plan." She looks around for Shep and finds him asleep on the floor. "But I think you waited too long to act on it. Oh well, Han and I will just have to take him home to bed." She pauses. "I'm Lana by the way. Did I already say that?"

Pippi looks down at the sleeping Shep. "I'll have to work on my timing." She looks back up at Lana, "If you did I must admit I've already forgotten that you have." She smiled "I'm Pippi, nice to meet you..."

She continues to look at Lana but points down to the sleeping Shep, "Is that yours?"

Han looks skyward. "Oh stars, he's gone. I think I can carry him, Lana."

He bends down and slings Shep over his shoulder, staggering a little. He's heavier than Bagoas. He wraps one arm firmly around Shep's legs and the other around Lana.

"We ready then?"

Lana leans in and kisses Shep's sleeping face. "Isn't he sweet when he's sleeping like this?" she asks Han. "I like to watch him while he sleeps."

She recollects that Han asked her something a minute ago. "Oh, and yes, I think we're all ready to go. Night, Pippi!"

"Hi Pippi. Nice coat." Lana smiles at her.

She looks down at Shep too and her smile gets all warm and a little sappy. "Yeah, I think he is. Han says so anyway. Wrote it on the bathroom wall and everything."

Pippi decides that she's just a smidge disappointed.

"Hi yourself. Thank you, I like your earings. Have a nice night... Good luck with that." She says pointing at Shep flung over Han's shoulder.

"Oh, thank you! That's so nice of you to say!" Lana beams owlishly at her, then looks at where she's pointing and smiles again at how cute Shep looks when he's sleeping. "Thanks. I'm sure Han will get us home safe. Night!"

Han turns to Shep. "Come on, Pal."

Pippi has no idea that this is the "grinding pervert" she's read so much about, and so she waves sadly.

Because he's a sucker for a sad face, Han gives her a smile. "Look, I get these two kids who can't hold their booze tucked in, you want me to come back and give you the dance you didn't get from Shep?"

"I'll catch up with you in about fifteen minutes, depends on hwo crowded the stairs are." He smiles. "Be warned, I love to dance."

He heads out with Shep over his shoulder and Lana on one arm, singing, VERY loudly in Old High Corellian. Which will sound vaguely familiar to Prof Camulus, but any one else is welcome to take as drunken glossolia.

Good as his word, Han is back about twenty minutes later.

"You ready for the dance? I think Lana called you Pippi?"

[[ooc: Pick a song other then Blonds are dumb and Rock and roll high school. Mosh pit is an option if there are other people there. Two person mosh pit makes no sense and I don't want to hurt you. :)
