Library (1/10/06)

After ACJ, Janet went up to her room, grabbed her backpack, and came back over to open up the library. She sat down behind the Collections Desk and started to process any library card applications that weren't finished yesterday.

"What if I'm the Unchosen One?" Pip asks. He shakes Janet's hand. "Pip Bernadette. One of the new people. And an ickle freshman and that. Which makes me doubly put upon, I suppose." He signs his name on the card. "What would've happened had I put Chosen One on the card?"

[[OOC: Hm? It's not supposed to be moving, if that's what you mean. OR are you making a snarky remark about the text that I don't get 'cause I woke up about twenty minutes ago?]]

[OOC: It's not showing up -- we're just getting the red x of a dead image. Or at least, I am, and I assume that's what Janet meant.]

"Ahhh. I thought that there might be some sort of magical vortex opening up, given this place." He blows on the card to get the ink to dry faster. "So, if there are a bunch of Chosen Ones around here, doesn't that by definition make being Chosen not that big a deal?"

Pip strokes his chin. "You know what I've always wondered? Who does all the choosing. I like to think that there's this angel or something who's sole job is to "choose" people. Like he's got a big stack of everyone and a stamp that says "choosen".

He glances at the card. "I give this back to you, then? Or do I keep it?"

Pip finishes up the application and slides it over to Janet. "What kind of supply do you have here?" He asks. "And is there a procedure on requesting books?"

He shakes his head. "If there are chosen ones in my dimension, no one told me about them. I don't believe in destiny, anyway."

"Special collections, eh?" Pip looks thoughtful.

He nods. "Agreed. How can you not be sure that saying that something is your destiny doesn't cause you to actively search out the destiny? Self-fufilling prophecies."

Pip shrugged. "Nothing, really. I'm a browser by nature and looking for clever plot ideas.

Pip shook his head. "I've heard of it, but I'm afraid I've never read it. I had a very varied education."

[[OOC: Sorry! That was me that posted that last comment. I completely forgot that I was logged in in my non-RP LJ!]]

Pip nods. "I figured as much." How big a plot? Because the one I'm planning on doing (not for a month or two at least) would be pretty big, and I don't want to look repetative

Pip nods and smiles what he hopes is charmingly. "I'll have to try it. Any other book reccomendations?"
