After ACJ, Janet went up to her room, grabbed her backpack, and came back over to open up the library. She sat down behind the Collections Desk and started to process any library card applications that weren't finished yesterday.

Lee, despite not being a hot book babe, returns to the library as usual to study a bit of Egyptian art for class.

Janet waved at Lee as he walked in.

Blair bounced into the library and up to the desk.

"Hi, I need to do some research and stuff here and I need to know what I need to do that."

Wow. New kid. And bouncy at that. Janet took a drink of coffee.

"Did you get a library card yesterday?" she asked. "And what are you researching?"

"No, I didn't. I'm sorry, can I get one today? Is that okay?" Blair bounced happily. "I need to look into how the moon landing was faked, what monkeys know and vampires."

Lee smiled back. "Got anything good on Egyptian art?"

Pip wanders in. "Hey, I missed the big library cattle call yesterday, is it too late to get one? And, while I'm at it, do you guys happen to have any books on savate? It's a French martial art."

"Of course you can get one today," said Janet, wondering just how much caffeine he'd had this morning. She handed him a library card application. "By the way, I'm Janet Fraiser. The moon landing wasn't faked, you can find information on monkeys in the zoology section, and for vampires, you should probably go to the school's primary source instead of relying on a secondary source.."

After returning from town, Bel headed into the library and started browsing the philosophy/religion section, looking not suspicious at all. Really.

"You're not too late," said Janet, handing over an application. "In fact, missing out on the crowd is sensible. We have books on everything, and the martial arts books are even accessible. Five rows back, third bookshelf in."

"Use the term 'Chosen One' on the application, and we may have words," she said. She'd seen that a lot at the start of last semester. "Blue or black ink only, please. And by the way, I'm Janet Fraiser." She held out her hand. "Nice to meet you."

Blair bounced while he filled out the form. "It's great to meet you, Janet! My name's Blair, Blair Sandburg. That's what Professor Lyman said too, but I'm almost positive that it was. Naomi and I lived in this commune in Arizona and I learned all about it." Blair bounced and handed the form back. "Really, what's the primary source?"

Victor didn't have any classes until 4th period, so he spent his morning wandering around the campu. Eventually, he came across a big sign that said LIBRARY, and decided to check it out.

Inside, he was amazed at the size of it, as well as the selection. He noticed what he assumed was the librarian talking with a few students, including Pip. He waited his turn, and when the Librarian acknowledged him he said, "Hey, how's it going? Do I need to get a card for this place?"

"Oh, sure," said Janet, looking on the computer. "The art and writing as magic books are in Special Collections, so please don't tell me you want those," she said. "But the regular art books are in the back of the library, off to the left. So are you taking one of the art classes?"

"You do," Angela says, joining Janet behind the desk. "Here's the form. Use blue or black ink, write your full name, and -" she rolls her eyes, "I have to tell you not to write you're the chosen one. Even if you are."

"I'm pretty good, you?"

Angela crooks an eyebrow at Bel but decides to let him be as she really doesn't want to star Glarefest 3000: Beyond Thunderdome.

Angela waves. "So what did you think of Autolycus so far?"

"Yeah, I don't want any Special Collections books," Lee says frowning, "just the regular ones, please."

"Yeah, taking History of Art. Sounds pretty interesting!"

"He's hot a bit... enigmatic, I suppose. It's too soon to tell?"

"What if I'm the Unchosen One?" Pip asks. He shakes Janet's hand. "Pip Bernadette. One of the new people. And an ickle freshman and that. Which makes me doubly put upon, I suppose." He signs his name on the card. "What would've happened had I put Chosen One on the card?"

Pip elbows Victor in the ribs in line. "Hey man, what's up? Used your amazing chameleon-like abillities to get into any trouble yet?"

"Definitely hot. Yeah, you're probably right about it being too soon to tell. It seems like it won't be a goof-off class, anyhow. I'm not sure whether I like that or not."

"Hotter than that Ash person too Yeah, well, I don't like taking goof off classes anyway," Lee says.

"Yeah, smart guys are way hotter. I like them sometimes, but ... I dunno. That thing Zero was saying at our class meeting about how we need to worry about getting into college kind of got to me, y'know? I don't want to have to go to community college or repeat some of high school or anything."

"Do you know where you want to go to college?"
