Library (1/10/06)
After ACJ, Janet went up to her room, grabbed her backpack, and came back over to open up the library. She sat down behind the Collections Desk and started to process any library card applications that weren't finished yesterday.

He glances at the card. "I give this back to you, then? Or do I keep it?"

"Who does the choosing?" Janet shrugged. "As far as I know, we have no Chosen Ones where I come from, so I'm clueless on it. How about you? Is there a Chosen One or two lurking in your home dimension?"
no subject
He shakes his head. "If there are chosen ones in my dimension, no one told me about them. I don't believe in destiny, anyway."
no subject
"I have problems with the concept of destiny myself," said Janet. "More to the point, I don't believe in it. How can you even prove it exists?"
no subject
He nods. "Agreed. How can you not be sure that saying that something is your destiny doesn't cause you to actively search out the destiny? Self-fufilling prophecies."

"Have you ever read Oedipus Rex?" asked Janet. "I don't know if they have it in your dimension, but it's an ancient play that covers exactly that subject."

and looking for clever plot ideas.Pip shook his head. "I've heard of it, but I'm afraid I've never read it. I had a very varied education."
[[OOC: Sorry! That was me that posted that last comment. I completely forgot that I was logged in in my non-RP LJ!]]

But it's fun roleplay, and we just had an entire plot that revolved around SC."It's good," said Janet. "I'd recommend it."
OOC: Not a problem! One time I was talking to CJ as Janet and then suddenly posted as Drusilla. It was a little weird.

How big a plot? Because the one I'm planning on doing (not for a month or two at least) would be pretty big, and I don't want to look repetativePip nods and smiles what he hopes is charmingly. "I'll have to try it. Any other book reccomendations?"
no subject
Not huge, and there hasn't been much plotty over SC. So you'll probably be good."Nothing right now," said Janet. She grins at him. "I've just started my school reading, so the reading for fun has been put on the back burner for a while. Sorry."
OOC: If you want to work up a Special Collections plot, you're going to want to contact the Librarian ([Bad username or site: @ livejournal.com]) as that player has final say over anything done with Special Collections. She's very cool, and I know she's always willing to work with people. I can't wait to see what you do! When you get a chance to do it.
