Cleaning out the library

Methos is back from the mainland and is clearing out the librarian's office.

Lee enters and approaches the librarian. "Professor Methos, it was such a pleasure to have you as the librarian," Lee says and hands him a small gift bag (full of omg, baked goods!). "Merry...ummm... merry holidays, sir."

Methos smiles and takes the bag and wonders how Lee knows his OMG sekret name. "Thank you, Lee, that's very kind." He arches one eyebrow. "You are taking history next semester, right?"

Ah fuck. Pretend that didn't happen, lol! "History?," Lee asks, tilting his head.

So very much not your fault. I haven't made the distinction particularly easy to figure out! "Yes, history. You know, rememberance of times past. That which went before. The one class where you get to discuss gossip and scandal all day long and get credit for it?"

There is a distinct popping noise from inside the main common area of the library and, suddenly, a large orange chair appears in the middle of the room. It appears quite shaggy and is vibrating slightly.

Methos turns and raises one eyebrow. Then the other one. "What the hell?" he says pleasantly.

Suddenly, the chair appers to sneeze. How it sneezes is unknown, since it lacks nasal passages. But it's definately a sneeze. The chair changes shape, becoming a rug, then a small orange cat that meows softly, and then, finally, a rather annoyed looking lamp, of the variety not seen since the 60s. Or at least it certainly appears to be annoyed.

Methos, however, is pleased, because the last thing he needed on his last day in the library was another random cat from nowhere. Not that the lamp is exactly what he'd use to decorate the library, but at least it isn't meowing.

Janet hadn't left on vacation yet, and so when she went by the library and saw the lights on, stopped in to see if Methos was back. They hadn't had a chance to give him their Christmas gift as a group, but she could still give it to him and say it was from all of them.

He looks up and sees her. "Hi, Janet. I figured you and Daniel would be gone by now."

"He's still grading," she said absently. It was strange to see the library so quiet. Except there seems to be something slightly orange moving behind Methos. Janet frowned and leaned to the side, hoping to see what it was.

*Zero has already left. She did delay her flight in hopes of getting to say goodbye to Professor Pierson in person, but when it became apparent that wasn't in the cards, she left his Christmas presents outside the door to his office. They are in a very small box and in a bit bigger box.*

*She also went in on the larger present, but she didn't know when it was being given.*

Sometime when there wasn't orange monkeys orangutans around, Methos finds the boxes. He chuckles over both of them, particularly the zombie survival guide particularly since a Fandom High-er gave the mun that last Sunday. :)

Marty enter's the library so distracted he doesn't realize that there's an orangutan running around. He goes over to the main desk and starts snooping around it.

"Marty!" exclaimed Janet, dragging her gaze away from the orangutan. "What the heck do you think you're doing? And, hey, did you ever catch up with Angela yesterday?"

"Yes. And no. I found Angela yesterday but... it's a different Angela. One that left after Zombie weekend and we never-"

Marty huffed in frustration.

"Never got together. I think she left her duffle bag here and whoever came back from special collections needs some clothes. Also Parker mentioned video feeds, is there a way I can see what happened to her yesterday? Maybe I can figure out a way to get my.... I mean *our* Angela back."

"Angela's been replaced by a version of herself from an alternate universe?" The first chance she got, Janet was going to start hunting in Special Collections for a quantum mirror. "Our Angela seems to be very definitely gone." Which was good, for now, because temporal entropic cascade failure wouldn't be a fun way to spend the winter break.

"I can get Angela's duffle bag," said Janet, going behind the Collections Desk to do just that. "You should probably talk to Rover about the video feeds, though." She shook her head. "But they're inconsistent in Special Collections. You might not be able to see what happened. Though she was reshelving books on--" Janet paused. "Time travel, I think? That would make sense."

"Professor Pierson, do you have any gl..." Sam stopped short in her request to borrow gloves when she saw the... "Orangutan."

"You're telling me," said Janet. "He's the new librarian. And I think his name is Librarian."

"So, that's new." Sam looked to Janet and Professor Pierson, still a little confused. "Can he...talk?"

Somewhere inbetween the orange orangatun and... well, that's enough, isn't it, Methos grabs the line. "Fandom High Library, Pierson speaking."
