"So, that's new." Sam looked to Janet and Professor Pierson, still a little confused. "Can he...talk?"

Janet shook her head. "When has anything at this school been easy?" she asked.

"Does 'ook' count as talking? Although he can deliver quite a bit of editorial comment with just one, er, sound. I'm quite sure that there was a, 'Hell, no, you blathering idiot' in there somewhere in the 'ooks'."

"I don't think the school existed before we got here," said Janet. "I'm pretty sure I heard this is it's first year in operation."
