Cleaning out the library

Methos is back from the mainland and is clearing out the librarian's office.

((Last time to use this icon. *sniff*))

((Then again, there are all the icons I made last night for history class...))

Lee enters and approaches the librarian. "Professor Methos, it was such a pleasure to have you as the librarian," Lee says and hands him a small gift bag (full of omg, baked goods!). "Merry...ummm... merry holidays, sir."

Ah fuck. Pretend that didn't happen, lol! "History?," Lee asks, tilting his head.

Lee leans in to say, "and I'm guessing by your ethusiasm that you're teaching history next semester then?"

There is a distinct popping noise from inside the main common area of the library and, suddenly, a large orange chair appears in the middle of the room. It appears quite shaggy and is vibrating slightly.

[identity profile] theorangeook.livejournal.com 2005-12-22 05:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Suddenly, the chair appers to sneeze. How it sneezes is unknown, since it lacks nasal passages. But it's definately a sneeze. The chair changes shape, becoming a rug, then a small orange cat that meows softly, and then, finally, a rather annoyed looking lamp, of the variety not seen since the 60s. Or at least it certainly appears to be annoyed.

Another sneeze, followed by a cacophony of shapes including what might have been a fuzzy giraffe, reveals a rather bewildered and grumpy looking orangutan. After carefully examining his fur, making sure he is 100% ape and with no lamp-like appendages, he begins to notice his surroundings.

"Oook?"

"Well, when the classes are announced, I'll be sure to try to sign up!" he says, cheerfully.

Janet hadn't left on vacation yet, and so when she went by the library and saw the lights on, stopped in to see if Methos was back. They hadn't had a chance to give him their Christmas gift as a group, but she could still give it to him and say it was from all of them.

"He's still grading," she said absently. It was strange to see the library so quiet. Except there seems to be something slightly orange moving behind Methos. Janet frowned and leaned to the side, hoping to see what it was.

"OOOK! OOK OOK OOK!"

The orangutan gestures wildly around him in obvious frustration, going so far as to grab the front of Methos's shirt, shaking slightly.

"OOK!"

He then turns and begins climbing one of the library shelves, looking for a book. The orangutan seems to be quite familar with navigating libraries.

"Okay," said Janet, from where she'd been greeting Methos. "Is it me, or do we have a--" She peered over at the library shelves. "--an orangutan in the library?"

She turned to Methos. "Did Special Collections transform another student into an animal?"

[identity profile] theorangeook.livejournal.com 2005-12-22 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
The orangutan seems to be making his way towards the history section, moving through the books with uncanny ease. He stop, however, upon discovering a book on landscape architechture in the wrong section.

"Oook."

If possible, he sounds decidedly disgusted, and tosses the misplaced book at the library staff. He continues his search, ooking to himself.

Janet narrowly dodges a very heavy, very thick book and glares at the orangutan. "What'd you do that for?"

She glances down at the book. "Hm. Landscape architecture. That shouldn't be shelved there."

She narrows her eyes at the orangutan. "You know, sometimes things get shelved wrong, especially if you're in training. Do you mind not trying to concuss us over it?"

[identity profile] theorangeook.livejournal.com 2005-12-22 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Still making his way through the history section, the orangutan encounters a small section that seems to have been alphabetized incorrectly. He begins to rearrange them quickly, turning to point at the library staff again.

"Ook. Ook. Ook." He point with each ook the the letter in question, demonstrating as best an orangutan can the correct order.

He finally stops when he arrives at the section that contains books on ancient libraries.
