Methos looks like he hasn't slept, and possibly has been hit by a 2 x 4 somewhere along the way.
He's working on translating the text that came for him several weeks ago, making notes in a spiral-bound notebook. If you were, say, Daniel Jackson, you might recognize the notes as sort of a bastard Medieval Latin, heavily abbreviated.
