The Library (Thursday)

Around ten, Zero comes by the library and, realizing it's still locked down, sets about opening it up. The first person to enter will find that half of the lights are still off and a very pissed-off pink cat is sitting on the Circulations Desk.

Parker comes in, and seeing Zero as a kitten, sighs. "Again?"

Again. It seems to be lastin' less an' less. Squall, my coffee's probably cold by now.

"Hi, Parker. She was, but I guess she isn't anymore," Angela says.

She turns to Zero. "Hey, what happens to your clothes when you switch? I mean, the cat isn't wearing them, and you are."

I have no squallin' clue. Parker got me a collar, an' it stays, but my clothes don'. Maybe that's because she put it on me while I was still a cat, though.

"More than likely. We really do need to get a coffee maker for here, one that makes a decent cup." Parker shakes her head, and perches on her usual stool. "Does anyone know how long it's going to take for the cat thing to wear off? I'm just hoping it doesn't happen in the middle of one of your finals."

"At least this school should accept spontaneous transformation as a mitigating circumstance," Elizabeth grins. "Hey, Parker."

"Hey, Liz." Parker twirls on her chair. "Did you hear that the Dean isn't taking it as an excuse to miss class now? He thinks we're being 'trendy.' Someone ought to turn him into something, but with out luck, it wouldn't be a koala bear."

"Yeah, I heard that. What happens if you turned into something that couldn't fit into the classroom? Like an elephant?"

Parker's expression is suddenly highly entertained. "Or a dragon? Not a petite dragon like Lockheed, but a really big one? Heh. Or a tree? Would they still expect you to get to class if people were having to shop you around?"

"I don't know. I'd say to ask the Dean, but he'd kill us with his spoon give us detention or something for wasting time and being stupid." She frowned. "And I don't want to find out personally. Unless it was someone irrating who got turned. Then I might be behind that.

Purely hypothetically of course."

No one seems t'know for sure, same as no one's quite sure what caused it. One of the prat's books, yeah, but which one?

*grumble* As far as I know, Professor Jerusalem didn' punish him at all. An' they can't fit me for one of those translator collar thingies because I can't turn into a cat on demand!

*shrug* It has to be calibrated or some squallin' nonsense like that. Whatever. I'll just go bite Professor Dream's shoelaces if I need to talk, I guess.

Angel passes by the library. As he goes by the doors he can be spotted by someone who might wish to spot him for some odd reason. Like, say, Parker. Just to make up an example.

Parker's head jerks around, and she holds up a finger to Zero and Liz. "Hold that thought. Must ambush."

She strides out the doors and whistles piercingly down the hallway. "Hey! Wings! I want to talk to you."

Angel stopped where he was. He wondered why this week of all weeks people kept whistling and calling him like he was a dog.

He turned around to face Parker. "What? I didn't go in, just like you asked."

Parker twitches her shoulders and looks mildly irritated. "So? Now I'm asking. I have a few questions that you have answers to. Got something better to do?"

"Oh, like that would change anything." Parker stalked over and grabbed the jacket. "You, in, here, now. I'll make it as painless as possible, Emo King. It won't even cut into your hiding-in-shadows time."
