The Library Is Open (11/3/05)
Janet dragged herself from Criminal Justice to the library, unlocked it, and tried to decide if she felt like working today sat down behind the Collections Desk. She started checking in books very, very slowly.

Sam grinned at Parker, amazed she wasn't dizzy from the spinning, "Oh, he knows. Jack just caught pneumonia and his Uncle forgot to ask for it back."

Sam took another bite, then threw the apple core towards a garbage can. Sighing when she missed, she walked over to pick it up and throw it out properly. "He got two, actually. But it's not like he asked for them. He and Doctor House just seem to get along disturbingly well."

No, I really didn't."no subject
"I mean, it's not like you don't know from prior experience."no subject
Oh, I know. I'd have gone for grape-flavored antibiotics right away. Or just given him another IV drip of them. And there's a reason we had a drawer of 'hidden' board games in the infirmary."(no subject)

"Pneumonia," she said, when she recovered. "Given that he wouldn't have been there to puke on your shoes if he'd just stayed in bed when he first started feeling sick. And I think Uncle George is still sticking around until he can swipe the credit card back for--" Janet cleared her throat and mentally cursed Parker. "Uncle Jonathan."

She pulled a box of chocolate out of her bag and held it out to Sam. "Truffle?"
no subject
"Ooo. Thanks." After a moment of intense thought, Sam selected a truffle and bit into it, tasting the burst of sweetness. Nothing like diverted gratification. "Yum, raspberry."

"Of course," said Janet. She took the mocha truffle she'd been hoping Sam would leave and stared at it. "It's entirely possible these are the perfect food."
no subject
"It is possible. Especially if they've got caffeine and/or alcohol in them." She popped the rest of the truffle into her mouth and closed her eyes in bliss.

Janet nibbled at one side of her mocha truffle. "If your raspberry truffle has alcohol in it too, I'm going to be jealous."
no subject
"No, no alcohol. Just raspberry. Which is enough, trust me."

as she very interestedly watched as the filling disappeared off Sam's lip. "Not only do we know where they are, but we also have no shame about using the knowledge to our advantage."Janet licked some of the mocha out of the inside of her truffle. "Oh, absolutely." She looked at the box, then at Sam. "But how do we decide who gets dibs on the mint truffle?"
