Sensitivity Training, Thursday, September 1st

To say Guy wasn't pleased with his latest class subject was possibly the tiniest bit of an understatement. He liked teaching gym class, damn it. It never involved pointless talk about how getting beamed by a dodgeball made you feel as a person. But he'd soldier on and plot his revenge on Kyle.Maybe some lava blood....

"Obviously this is sensitivity training," he said once the classroom was filled. "Now, we're not going to have a drum circle or anything to discuss the oppression we all feel, okay? Let's just call this 'How to not be a jerk' instead."

Trust him, he was an expert on this.

"We'll get into that touchie feelie crap later on, so you won't need and tissues today. It's your first day, so let's go easy. Tell everyone your name, where you're from and what you wanna learn here."

Not that he needed the class ideas or anything. Not at all. Really.

Or because Bruce was evil. Or thought she needed to learn how not to do things like try and throttle her father with a chain. One or the other. Maybe both.

"But that's okay," she went on. "I could pick up some pointers on how to get other people to not be jerks."

"Nathan Young from Ireland, mate," he said, glancing around at the rest of his classmates. "And I think I want to learn how to better handle my very fragile emotions when someone is a jerk to me. I'm a flower in bloom, you see. People here are so...harsh."

Yeah, that was all a lie. He was the harsh jerk.

Guy was just going to stare for a moment because, if that was true, he'd probably end up making the kid cry a lot.

"You might want to leave high school then," Guy replied, showing why he also needed the class.

Seriously? Sadi had put her in this class? Seriously? Surreal didn't bother to hide her scowl as she slouched in her chair.

"Surreal, from Hayll," she answered shortly. "I'm here because my would-be guardian seems to think it's good for me."

Surreal very clearly disagreed.

Karla who had signed up for this class after the debacle with Lasfaeran, just sighed a little. This was not going to help her current levels of diplomacy.

"I'm Karla from Glacia," she said. "I signed up for this class because I've been told I'm a little too Skywalkerish for most forms of diplomacy."
