A visibly annoyed Anakin was at the front of the classroom of both normal students and those in the Science of Sexuality, who'd been ~~handwavily, yay!~~ asked to arrive as well, trying not to catch Holmes or Watson's eyes. The droid in his arms was wailing loudly. Really, this was far too irritating. And not his fault.

...somehow.

"I'm not certain if it's spread to all of your assignments yet," he said, "but I went into my office and was greeted by a closet full of droids that won't stop crying. We are trying to teach you all lessons about the responsibility of children who don't disappear after a weekend, ones who can't talk to you and tell you what they need, but we aren't trying to drive the entire dormitory around the bend. Please return the droids to me and I will figure out where their programming has gone faulty. I'm sure the island is to blame for this somehow."

Because Anakin didn't get programming wrong, okay? Ever. And so he was just a little oversensitive about this going south. Or a lot sensitive.

"Tell us what you've learned over the last few days," he concluded. "Ethics students in particular: was this a good way to learn the consequences of lust?"

"Now it's a matter of waiting for the other shoe to drop," Anakin said quietly. "Or deciding when to drop it."

He wondered what would happen if he stole the other Anakin's thunder.

She arched an eyebrow. "Are you thinking about dropping it?"

"Rory thinks it's a good idea," Anakin replied. "What do you think?"

He'd do it without whacking her hand off this time?

She immediately began to think through how that might mess things up or not. It wasn't something she expected Leia to keep to herself if she found out.

"I think it'll be messy," she said honestly. "But she's going to find out eventually, and if you wait three or four years or however long it'd take for her to find out on her own, it'll be worse for both of you."

"It's going to be ugly regardless," Anakin said quietly. "I need to think it over some more. I don't want her to break, and as okay as she seems about Alderaan now, I think that would change drastically if she found out my part in it."

"Yeah, I wouldn't break it to her right on top of that, and on top of finally finding her brother. Do what feels right," she advised. "But don't do it because you think you have to, and don't not do it because you know how bad it'll get. Trust your feelings." She shrugged, adding, "Just my advice there."

Anakin nodded. "I don't want to feel backed into it," he said, "but things have already changed there, now that she and Luke know the truth about their relationship. I just don't know what unintended consequences it would have, and I've been burned by trying to fix the future before."

"As far as I can figure, as soon as Luke's name starts making the rounds, you and the Emperor are going to figure out who he is in that timeline, right?" she checked. "So everything that changes starts with Mom and Luke, both of who tend to be pretty rational. The next chance for them to really do anything is what, Bespin?"

Anakin frowned. "I think so?" he said. "That's when I figured out who Leia was, and I kept that very hidden from the Emperor."

"And Bespin's a while down the line, unless timelines do something weird," Jaina said. "And granted, things could go badly there, but there'd also be time for them to get used to things before they get there." And maybe Luke kept his hand.

Anakin nodded. "It's a few years. Which could be three weeks in Fandom, but I'll take my chances."

"It'll work out," she said. "I just get that feeling, no matter how things go."
