Wesley was reading. Because last week he'd been mocked on the radio for reading that bright purple book about how to talk to girls, today he was ready to not be mocked on the radio. Oh, yes. Today he was reading about giraffes.

Yes, that should be better.

On a break from Russian, and her advanced Anatomy, Scully wandered over to pester interrogate question Wesley.

"Certainly," said Wes, putting down the giraffe book. It wasn't that interesting anyway. "What can I help you with?"

"We were going to talk about magical and alternate dimensions once, a long while ago?" Scully said, setting her elbows on the counter. "Do you still have books on the subject?"

Ah! Yes! His favorite.

"I'm sure I can find some," he said, getting up. He decided to be really helpful and take her over to the corresponding section. Wasn't he generous?

There was indeed a section for magical and alternate dimensions. It consisted of eight books, and one of them looked like it might be in Enochian. Explore away, Scully.

Karla...pretty much had no idea where to begin researching things like "brought back from the dead" and "grabby red hands of fire." Which meant she was beelining for the desk in hopes that the student aide would know.

If she could tear him away from his scintillating book on giraffes, anyway.

At first, Wes was enjoying his book too much to notice that there was someone at the desk. (Apparently a fully-grown giraffe's neck could weigh as much as 500 pounds!) Then he became aware that someone was there, so he reluctantly looked up.

"Can I help you?"

"I hope so?" Karla said. Darkness, this was probably going to be awkward. "I need to find out how people can be brought back from the dead. And also, about hands made out of flames that can snatch people away. And if there's an overlap between the two, I need to start with that one. Uhh, does the library have anything like that?"

Awkward? Psh... no...

"Er," he said. "Resurrection spells... you should be able to find them over there," he said, pointing over to a dusty row of shelves toward the back. "There might not be all that many, as I think the majority of them are in Special Collections, but there should be a few books with theoretical passages, at least."

The other part was trickier. "I'm not certain about the flaming hands bit. Perhaps you could start your search with the resurrection spells and I can check the computer database?"

And hopefully figure out how to use it?

Scully was catching up on her Differential Equations and Russian. And waiting for Momoko, who needed help with her studying, and had been bribed to actually go into the Library with a promise of mochas.

After the studying of course. Heathens.

Momoko did not want to study. But really, that was independent of anything. "Lots and lots of sugar and chocolate and whipped topping and flavourings." She smiled ruefully and set her bag on an extra chair and joined her friend. "Hey Scully!"

"Hello, Momoko." Scully looked up and shook her head, smiling. "You might as well just get cocoa at that point. What's up first for today?"

"It could be white chocolate!" Momoko laughed as she pulled her books and notes from her bag. "But cocoa would get me marshmallows and no chance of any coffee flavour. I don't have anything pressing at the moment, so we can start anywhere. What about you?"

After ransacking the section Wesley had pointed to for any books that even suggested they might know something about resurrection, Karla took over a table and began reading and taking notes, hoping to find anything that might help explain what had happened last night.

Momoko was on her way to see Scully and stopped when she saw Karla. She hesitated a moment, then approached. Shifting her bag, she bent a bit to try to catch Karla's attention. "Hey Karla. Uhm, I know this is going to sound weird, but did I hear radio right earlier? About Raven... appearing?"

Please say no; Momoko hated ghosts.

Karla jumped when Momoko spoke. Some of the information in the texts was...creepy, at best. And considering how much they weren't saying, that was pretty impressive. Karla was a little less enthused about her prospective trip into Special Collections now.

"Hey Momoko..." she said vaguely, trying to shake off the jitters. "Huh?" Sorry, it took a moment for her to process what she'd heard. "Yeah," she said, more quietly. "She did. Right in the middle of the bowling alley."

"Sorry sorry!" Momoko raised her hands when she realized she'd startled her. "I didn't mean to scare you; I was just concerned. I know Radio gets things messed up sometime. Are you doing okay?"
