Wesley was reading. Because last week he'd been mocked on the radio for reading that bright purple book about how to talk to girls, today he was ready to not be mocked on the radio. Oh, yes. Today he was reading about giraffes.

Yes, that should be better.

"Nooooo," Karla said, shaking her head. "This demon was very much alive. But I don't know what happened to him after he died. I don't know what happens in this world, never mind someone else's." She rubbed her eyes tiredly and jotted a few things down. "Maybe Dinah knows," she said. "Raven's world is really close to hers."

But Momoko had information and Karla couldn't just dismiss it. "What can you tell me about the spirit world?" she asked. "I don't know anything about something like that."

Momoko hesitated, "I don't know much, really. It's like our world, with rules and sections? And it's where the demons and spirits live, of course. We call it the yōkai. There's places and times you can cross between the worlds, too. Obon is one of them."

She frowned, pinching her lip. "Which is one of the reasons we take away their powers and seal the really bad ones." She'd never heard of killing a demon, but... different worlds, different rules.
