BWI Airport | Portalocity Lounge | Saturday Morning | August 28
In most instances, no one would bat an eye at seeing a boy and his dog. In this instance, some people might actually run away screaming at the sight of this boy and this dog. Percy Jackson didn’t look all that intimidating on his own. He was average height, dark haired and carried a ball point pen in the pocket of his jeans.
Of course, the huge hellhound sitting behind Percy might have turned a few heads if not for the Mist. Thankfully, most mortals didn’t see Mrs. O’ Leary, Percy’s inherited hellhound sitting lazily in the BWI airport lounge (how the hellhound had fit, Percy didn’t know).
Percy himself didn’t look as relaxed as his dog. His eyes were jumping left to right, almost as if he expected something to attack him or for Luke to emerge from the crowd with that more smirk than smile look on his face.
This was about the fourteenth school Percy had been to since age twelve. He didn’t expect it to last. He wanted to be at Camp Half Blood. Instead, he was waiting in an airport lounge for a shuttle to cart him and his hellhound to a place called Fandom.
Percy frowned. He didn’t think this day could get worse.
[Open shuttle bus! Mrs. O’ Leary is a big ole hellhound that most mortals probably would not see because of something called the Mist. If you’re not exactly all the way mortal, you’d see her though. She’s not going to attack anyone, I promise.]

Re: Mingle [NS 08/28]
"Oh, I. Uh. Hello. Am I in the right place?" he asked.
Re: Mingle [NS 08/28]
Percy was just hoping the answer wasn't 'you'. He'd had that happen too often already.

Which would account for the gobsmacked expression.
"If you're looking for the shuttle to Fandom Island, you are," she told him, trying not to smile too broadly.

This was not what she had expected, especially not after having experienced the wonders of travelling through a magical portal. Elphaba felt quite alone, and was acutely aware that she had to brace herself for the inevitable gawking stares, pointed fingers, and whispered conversations.
Re: Mingle [NS 08/28]
Behind him, Mrs. O'Leary yawned like she was utterly bored and utterly over just sitting there. Percy looked at her and nodded. He could agree with that sentiment.

Zatanna smiled at Elphaba. "That is so awesome. Are you like, magic?" She had to, green people couldn't just be regular. Or she was a mutant, which wasn't as cool as being magical, but hey, it was something.

Re: Mingle [NS 08/28]
Why would you dress up like that if you didn't want people to notice you? Maybe she'd been stuck at an early Halloween party. Maybe it was a new Goth trend she'd missed. Whatever.
She wasn't meaning to stare, but she probably was, anyway. Boredom and curiosity more than anything hostile. Not that it necessarily came across like that.

Re: Mingle [NS 08/28]
Her head ached anyway, she was dizzy and confused, and the uniformed man in the corridor had simply stared at her when she asked -- three times -- where she was and where the nearest spaceport might be. Until she said it slowly and out loud -- then he finally muttered something about her being one of those and directed her to the room she was currently entering.
//Hello?// she sent as she pushed the door open and leaned for a moment against the frame for balance.
Re: Mingle [NS 08/28]
Unfortunately, he couldn't blame this on a dream since he was wide awake. His eyes darted around, looking for whoever had done that, trying to pick them out of the growing crowd. He didn't say anything though, just in case someone was trying to figure out who he was.

"What the fuck?" she asked, jumping to her feet and glaring around her. "Who did that!?"
She hoped someone had done that. Otherwise she was losing her mind.
Could reapers be insane? Did Mason count?

But no, Cadmus wanted him to socialize and learn to blend in better or whatever. Whatever, Kon was social!
Hopefully the girls were hot.
He spotted a group of people up ahead and shrugged as he headed towards them.
"This is place for that Fandom High thing?"
Re: Mingle [NS 08/28]
Maybe he didn't think it was such a good idea to be out in the open where any person could see and attack him. Not that being hidden had stopped them either.

Taking out a deck of cards, she decided to kill some time with a couple of tricks on the other newbies. At least nobody would be betting any money. Probably.
"So, who wants to pick a card?" An inquisitive look to the boy with the huge black dog, as he looked somewhat gullible. No offense, really, but when you wanted to become the next best stage magician you had to know who to pick.

Rather than fly down from New York, Nico had hopped a train and then a strange portal that dumped him out in an airport lounge. "Oh, for Hades' sake," he grumbled, hefting his duffel over his shoulder to have a look around. "If the school thinks I'm getting on a plane they're just looking to start trouble."

The flight had sucked, and getting her bicycle into (and then out of) the luggage compartment had sucked. Fighting with the stupid airline people about the bicycle, that had sucked.
And now, George was going to wheel her bike and her luggage into the lounge, and do her very best to look unapproachable. When she wasn't giving nervous looks to that ... dog-thing.
('unapproachable' from an IC standpoint, not an OOC one, i promise!)

Walking into the lounge filled with teenagers, however, made Cindy wonder just how jet-lagged she'd been when she came up with this bright idea.
