Lee walks in and looks for a librarian to help him.

[and one pops up] Can I help you?

"I'm looking for books on women in your military forces" Lee says seriously.

"Ah. Well, then. Can I introduce you to this handy card cataloge? If you look in here, you should be able to find everything from ancient Amazons to Joan of Arc to the Tailhook scandal. ~~And I'm not staring at your arms at all, why do you ask?~~"

Lee looks at Professor Methos in shock. "You mean, I'm supposed to look through cards to find the books I need? You don't have this on a computer database or something?" ~~*flexes omg*~~

"It builds ~~muscles~~ character. ~~No, I have no idea why we don't have a computerized catalog, except for the fact that it's so much more fun to make the students suffer.~~"

Lee scoffs. "Well, it definitely weeds out the people who don't really care about what they're researching. Okay, where do I look in the catalogue? ~~DO YOU KNOW YOUR DEWEY DECIMAL CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM!?~~" and you are mean. *sulks*

"Doesn't it?" asked Janet. ~~"We actually have a computerized database, but it's only accessible from the library terminal. Why do you think we send everyone to the card catalog?"~~

~~Well squall, because I've been saying we do have a computerized catalogue, and they couldn't find the card catalogue. Is library geography going to have to be next on the list?~~

Oh, frell, we are so screwed royally, aren't we? It shifts randomly on any given day based on the mood of the librarian or the assistant currently working?

But yes, library geography is next on the list. *goes to start making notes*

Janet raises an eyebrow ~~and ogles Lee's biceps~~. Interesting. She and Sam could probably go on for hours on the topic ~~and have, in the past, done so~~.

Lee has a PLAN.

"Hey Janet, you're planning on joining the air force as a medical doctor, correct?"

Methos chokes. "Something in my throat."

"You okay there?" asks Janet mildly. "Feeling all right?"

"That's the general idea," she says, looking slightly wary now. "Why?"

"I saw a report last night on the news about women in this arack place and how women in your military are not supposed to be on the front line in a military operation and--" he looks confused "--I knew this was a backwards planet, but lords! What do you think?"

"Lee," said Janet. "You have just touched on a topic near and dear to my heart. ~~Could you flex again, please?~~ I see absolutely no reason for women who choose to join the military to be held back from the front lines simply due to the fact that they're female."
