DADA For Muggles [Wednesday, February 17]

"Next week is your break," Sirius said with a slightly evil smile. "Which is lucky, as this week we have an interactive midterm for you to work on while you're supposed to be relaxing."

"Today we're assigning your pairs -- and one group of three. Over the course of the week, you will be playing Spy versus Spy! attempting to disarm one another. I cannot stress this enough, though -- any injuries will result in no credit and an immediate detention, and that's the very least of your concerns at that point. Your opponent will need to declare a surrender to denote a victory. You may agree upon the terms during this class, but anyone using their powers to hurt another student will, again, be severely punished."

Sirius held up really ugly belts with red flags attached to them. Someone had been raiding the gym supply closet....

"So you'll be wearing these. The first of the pair to steal the other person's flag wins. Listen carefully for your names. " He waved his wand and a piece of parchment appeared:

When Jonas heard the assignment, he winced. He was not a stealthy person and he was even less so a disarming person. He didn't know Warren at all but he hoped he'd be able to deal with someone as clumsy and unknowing as he was.

Jack knew which girl Mirax was, but he'd never had an actual conversation with her. He eyed her with only lightly veiled curiosity during the lecture.

Yeah, Kennedy knew who Tony was, it was pretty safe to say. Given where she knew him from, this would be interesting. She had her chin propped up on one hand and was drumming the fingertips of the other lightly on her desk, eyes just a touch narrowed in assessment of her, uh. Target.

And they hadn't said anything about not being allowed to team up... He and Makita together...? Could even be fun.

Jonas wasn't so much going to interrogate anyone (mostly because no one would be intimidated by that) but he did vow to attempt to ask questions and learn something about his so called target.

Warren had gone out on a limb today and had left the coat behind. Maybe he'd even make a habit of it. After all, it wasn't as though the wings were much of a secret, anymore.

"Hey," he said, trying not to cringe as he gave Jonas a bit of a nod. "It looks as though we have an interesting week ahead of us."

Kennedy's interrogative technique was... special. So it was probably a good thing that she was sitting and playing with the flag belt, looking at it somewhat distastefully, rather than actively going after people to interrogate, wasn't it?

As always, use common sense when completing this assignment--don't leap on each other in another classroom, etc., etc. Handwavey is also fine--just get together with the other mun so you have an epic story to tell in two weeks when the guys ask.
