DADA for Muggles, final class [Wednesday]

It had taken Remus and Sirius slightly less time this go around to program the Danger Room to do what they wanted (Sirius contended it was because it had threatened the computer with a good hexing, but that was debatable), but for a final examination, the professors felt that a bit of effort should be expended.

"Welcome to your exam," Sirius said with a slightly fiendish smile, extending his hand to encompass the scene before them: a large grassy area (complete with a different castle in the background. They missed Hogwarts a bit, so hush) covered in a variety of obstacles. "Hopefully you remember what you have learned. You will encounter a series of practical exercises in order for us to determine how prepared you are to face the Dark Arts in every day life. Good luck. If you get too hexed to continue, Professor Lupin and I will step in, but I don't think that will be entirely necessary."

Priestly was pretty sure that poking goths with sticks to see if they snapped at him wouldn't work as well here as it did on the cabbages.

Didi didn't get around to finding the vampire. She was too busy avoiding the guys trying to hit on her.

"Vampires. Why did it have to be vampires?"

Dinah stared around the club, then randomly growled at a few people.

She got two offers of dates, and then a glare back with yellow eyes and fangs. "Ha!"

...um, right, what was she supposed to do now?

Fuck, vampires. There were a lot of things Alex would be fine with but he still had some issues with this sort of thing. Really didn't need to be seeing the faces of people he now cared about on the faces of these various people and wondering if he'd ever have to kill them in some freaked up fantasy world.

Alex decided to just stand against the wall and hope the damn vampire came to him. This one just wasn't happening for him today.

This one coming to him was not a vampire. Not this time, anyway.

"Colourful," Effy noted, checking out his shirt. Somehow not in-keeping with the Goth theme. Not that she was doing much better, but, benefit of wearing a lot of black, it didn't really show much.

"Thank you," he said, rolling his eyes and letting that cover any twitch at the particular memory of her as a vampire. Really didn't want to show those issues right now. Ugh, this was not his day.

"Thought I'd go with something festive today," he said and even pulled off his cap to show her his hair. "I don't even need a hat or elf shoes today. Cute, right?"

"Just adorable," she agreed, smirking and reaching up to tease a few strands between her fingers.

"Been playing in the snow?"

"I just wasn't feeling the brown today," he quipped, tilting his head forward some to make that easier. Didn't even mind even if he was having a seemingly crap day.

"I'm not adorable and I wasn't playing," he finally answered, making a face. "Just got caught in some walking from the dorms to the school. As long as this shit comes out in the shower, I'll live."

Effy wasn't particularly fussed by the odd fleck or few she'd picked up, but like him, she could see how it would be preferable for it to be gone and she dropped her hand after a moment.

"Thought you'd be the one hiding behind a tree ready to pelt someone." He did say how much he liked throwing things at people, after all. Once there was snow, it was practically expected.

"Please, you make me sound so juvenile," he said, settling his cap back on his head and pulling the brim down. "I wouldn't hide if I was going to pelt someone. They'd see me."

That made it a lot more fun and hiding was another thing he hated doing. "Besides, this snow would turn my hands different colors. Really miss my aggressive tendencies, don't you?"

"You actually care about a bit of colour on your hands after that?" Effy asked, indicating that hat of his.

"If I picked up a handful of snow, it wouldn't be a bit of anything," he said, shaking his head. "Now, though, I almost regret not picking up some snow because it would have given me the excuse to share the ensuing color on my skin with you like you did your glitter awhile back."

Yeah, he still remembered that.

"Now, I don't have an excuse to touch you," he said, shaking his head. "Sad."

It had made sense aylt the time! She was sharing the glittery love, that was all.

"You don't normally need an excuse." This was Alex, after all.

And he would have been sharing the Christmas color love! It was parallelism in a way. They were a very sharing pair, after all.

"No, I don't," he agreed and took that as an invitation to reach up and settle one hand on the side of her neck, thumb brushing along her skin. Considering where he was, it was kind of needed. And he wanted to prove that he didn't need an excuse.

"I really hate vampires," he shared after a moment's pause, a little quieter than he'd been talking.

They weren't something that honestly bothered Effy much, but then again, she'd avoided the trauma he'd been subjected to. Knew she'd got lucky there, too.

"Don't see one yet," she noted, briefly glancing to one side to check. That was comforting, right?

"I'll be fine if it stays that way," he said, not doing any looking for himself. He'd gladly just keep watching her and let her do any looking. "This is my last final, at least. Yay for me. When's your last one?"

"Friday," she answered, looking back at him. "Only one that sounds like it might be work, too." This did not count as work. "Last one was multiple choice, and about sex."

"Sure you did well on that one. I'd ask you to educate me but I think I'm on par with you there," he said and smirked, sliding his hand down a little more towards her shoulder. "Wanna do something this weekend, enjoy the end of classes with me?"

Well. They'd gone out before and it wasn't like going out with her was a hardship or anything. Considering everything else, he figured he'd be proactive and see if she was interested.

Now this was the sort of place Effy felt right at home.

She wasn't actually looking for any vampires, just keeping that in mind while she blended with the crowd and tried to enjoy that little break she'd found in this. One was bound to show itself eventually.

Diana decided that she was just going to chill by the bar and see who was drinking what and who wasn't drinking at all.

Jenny closed her eyes and expanded her extra sense, looking for anomalies in the electrical fields of the people around her. When she found one, she opened her eyes, strode up to her, and said, "Hi. Don't suppose you'd like to bite me?" At the flash of fangs, Jenny grinned and said, "Sorry. Not on the market."

Her strategy at getting through the zombie exercise wasn't going to work here. Imagining herself or anyone she knew as a vampire was all too easy, but it didn't exactly inspire sympathy; just crawling horror. Going near even a fake version was just...no.

Francine settled for taking a seat by the bar and pulling out a makeup mirror, pretending to check her eyeshadow while she scanned the club for empty spaces where there should have been people.

Momoko had no real idea how to do this one, so tried for the simplest. She asked someone who worked there.

Jack rubbed the back of his head, which served to fluff out his mullet a bit unintentionally, as he asked the group if anyone wanted to bite him. They all reacted, to some degree, but it was the vampire who actually hissed.

"Bingo!"
