Library [09/19]

The normal library tasks were starting to get familiar now that George had been doing them for three weeks.  Which weirdly didn't mean they were going faster cause as he put the books away, he kept stopping to look through them.  Who was reading books about pandas' mating habits?  Did they really think they were going to be breeding pandas anytime in the next fifteen years?

He finally settled down after lunch with a book about theories of government.  And a dictionary because Tortall education so didn't cover words like 'federalism.'

Despite his best efforts last night, he was still leaving little sparkles of blue and gold glitter everywhere he went.  Thank you, Jean.

Twas and Beka pursed her lips, trying not to laugh. "And what did she do? Who was it anyway?"

"I know her," Beka said with a grin. "Does she know?"

"And you think she'll not meddle with you?" she asked lightly.

He was far too smug about that and Beka shrugged a shoulder, glancing at the bookshelves. Not even her Lord has a library this large. "Unless she finds out."

"You think I should be sticking with you?" she asked. "I've a feeling I'll be looking for a while if you don't."

She raised an eyebrow at him. "What? No talk of how you've got more to offer than a gixie would?"

"Here I thought you'd be more persevering," she shrugged a shoulder. "Are there books on how their city guards work here?"

"I'm no honeylove," she did have the desire to reach across the desk and hit him. She settled for a glare.

"You implied it," she wrinkled her nose. "What kinds are there?"

"I suppose I'll know how to keep busy for a while," she concluded. "Start with the police in this country?" Those sounded closest to the Dogs.

"This island is more boring than I expected," she hadn't meant to say that out loud, but there it was. She shrugged a shoulder. "My Lord will be interested in it."

She shook her head. "Seemed like a bad idea when I don't know what half of everything here is."
