Library [09/19]

The normal library tasks were starting to get familiar now that George had been doing them for three weeks.  Which weirdly didn't mean they were going faster cause as he put the books away, he kept stopping to look through them.  Who was reading books about pandas' mating habits?  Did they really think they were going to be breeding pandas anytime in the next fifteen years?

He finally settled down after lunch with a book about theories of government.  And a dictionary because Tortall education so didn't cover words like 'federalism.'

Despite his best efforts last night, he was still leaving little sparkles of blue and gold glitter everywhere he went.  Thank you, Jean.

"You're not that interesting," she assured him.

"They were lying," she said seriously. She put the books under her arm and turned back towards the checkout desk.

"You've mistaken me for someone who cares," she reminded him. She'd no idea how the library thing worked, but she stopped at the desk.

"I'd not keep from borrowing a book cause you're here," she put the books down and reached for the form.

She picked up a pen from the desk and started filling out the firm. "Mayhap thinking's not your greatest quality?"

"No, I'd have no one to hobble," she said sweetly as she handed him the form back.

"Tis a shame I've not got my hobbles on me," she said and shook her head. "Besides, there's naught to it if you make it so easy."

"I didn't say that," she said easily, picking up the books.

"I already said I did," she reminded him as she turned towards the door.

She nodded. Either as goodbye or agreement. He'd find out soon enough.
